So, a friend just asked me: “Why can’t Protestants take communion?”
I’ve had a lot of friends ask me this in this past, and they say that my answer “makes sense,” but I was wondering what approach seems to be the best for everyone.
Is there a concise argument that you make regarding the Eucharist and why we protect it so fervently? I’m looking for something that would identify the main points of the theological base of the Eucharist and why it is that we restrict its reception to Catholics alone.
[Don’t get me wrong, I DO understand it! I just would like to hear the explanations that most people give to their Protestant friends.
