How do I get out of this cycle?

After I go to confession I feel strong and able to fight against temptation. However, over time it gets harder and physchiological attacks start to happen (or get stronger). Then I fall into mortal sin and eventually go to confession. I pray every day (excluding times when I’m in mortal sin as it could be less) and usually do the rosary (excluding when in mortal sin) many times. However, this still continues to happen. How can I allow God or I by my own power get out of this.

When you are being tempted praise god and immediately turn to him for relief from the difficulties, stress, and Frustration of life for relief instead of turning to your sin for relief. Call out to him for his help and peace.

Don’t quit praying after a stumble. He loves you now and forever.
Just pray an honest act of contrition with the promise of a formal confession, and forgive yourself, knowing that Jesus already has. Stay with him.

How can I go to confession while under venial sin ? I usually go to mass before I go to confession while I have venial sin. Also, the reason for not doing the rosary is probably because I have lossed my willpower.

Subject your will by fasting on food and water. Mortify your senses especially the eyes in small things

I too struggle with such cycles. What I have found out is that something that is at the root of my slipping back into sin is a certain problematic attitude of mine: when I fall into mortal sin, I blame myself too strongly. I came to realize that I act as if I were the offended party; as if my idealized, vain, proud image of myself had been greatly offended. Of course, the offended party is always God but, though I grant him a little bit of offense and ask His pardon, I then fail to pardon myself for committing the offense of defiling my perfect self-image. As of late, I learned to cultivate a different attitude, more lenient towards myself, a poor sinner myred by concupiscence whose state of grace is a fruit of God’s bountiful mercy and kindness, not my own doing. This has helped me to be more genuinely contrite about my mortal sins and more humble in accepting my poverty and weakness and I hope that somehow it may help you too.

My advice would be to go to confession regularly and more often, even when you only have venial sins to confess. Examine your life and find the triggers or near occasions of sin which lead you to mortal sin. Ask the Lord to help you avoid them and/or conquer them. The graces you receive will help you defeat the enemy.

Lemme guess: masturbation? It’s a common problem. I speak for myself, anyway.

Keep going to confession. I go at least twice a month. It’s good for the soul to be washed, and the worse the sin, the better. I tried going after every time I committed that mortal sin - which, for me, turned into every two or three days. Father suggested I might have a problem of culpability. I’m not saying the same will happen for you - nor that you shouldn’t do anything about it.

Talk to your priest about it. Tell him your situation, outside of the confessional. And ask him if psychological help might not be a good idea. If he thinks it might - and I suspect he will - seek it out from a good, Catholic shrink.

Actually, that’s probably sound advice whatever the mortal sin is. There’s no reason you should be committing the same mortal sin every week completely out of your own free will. Definitely ask your priest if your will may be impaired, and if you ought to get help to be set free.
