How do I get over my fear of ghosts and demons?

When I was stationed in the UK at a base near the coast of the North Sea, there were stories of a ghost. During WWII a German aircraft crash landed at the base. The aircraft caught fire and the story says the firefighters just let the aircraft burn and didn’t try to save the crew, so the crew has haunted the base ever since. Our squadron building was the morgue during the war. There were reports from several airmen and maintenance crew over the years of seeing a man dressed in and old and burned uniform at various locations, from a hallway to an aircraft cockpit of a locked plane that caused security to be called. I personally never saw this ghost, but knew of a new mechanic that reported the mystery to our Security Police, who of course found nothing. This person had never heard of the stories until then.
Of course this same base also made the news when crop circles were discovered in a farmers field just outside the fence.
Fun stories with genuine mystery behind them. I didn’t ever lose a night’s sleep over them.

According to Thomas Aquinas spirits can not reside where they are not welcome. Angels and demons must leave if you revoke permission to be there.

There are two distinct possibilities here.

If ghosts exist and are dead human beings, (I don’t really have a belief on that), they cannot hurt you because they are dead. Full stop. You need life before you can do anything, and ghosts are not alive, by definition.

Demons are something else entirely. They are spirits, and so CAN hurt you without being alive. But the way to avoid that is to maintain your prayer life, penance, and sacraments, because then you have our LORD Himself under your skin, and even demons can’t get through that.
