The priest needs to know number and species of sins (and if there were any circumstances that would change the species) and was it voluntary. In this case it is the sixth commandment which pertains to actions rather than thoughts, and this is solitary so there is no accomplice as there would be in fornication, adultery, etc. so it is unnatural vice. There may also be impure thoughts, the ninth commandment, since through proceeds action. I am guessing that the ninth is assumed along with the sixth, so is would not be mentioned when related.I hate this awful sin, i have only done it twice but i feel disgusting and i want/need to go to confession. I am going to go this sunday, but i dont want to come right out and say, “I masturbated” because i live in a small community and the priest is a really close friend of mine, and i would feel awkward, but i also dont want to just say " I did bad things" i want to know a better less awkward way to confess my sin without making it awkward and feeling awful in conffession, does anybody have any advice, i would greatly appreciate it!!! Thank you all!!!
St. Thomas Aquinas thought that the four unnatural forms of lust though not harmful to others are sins directly against God himself as the creator of nature.
Unnatural vice includes these four:
- Beastiality
- Sodomy (same sex)
- Improper intercourse (different sex)
- Masturbation
