How do I invite people to a Catholic wedding?

I’m struggling with how to word my wedding invitations. We are having the “simple ceremony” – not a full Mass. I’d like the invitation to have some reference to Christ, or the sacrament of marriage, or something representing our faith. Help!!

With a full nuptial Mass a Catholic wedding invitation could look like this:

Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Doe
request the honour of your presence
at the nuptial Mass uniting their daughter
Mary Anne
to
Mr. Peter Thomas Smith
in the sacrament of matrimony…

You can adapt this to a Catholic wedding outside of Mass as follows:

Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Doe
request the honour of your presence
at the nuptials uniting their daughter
Mary Anne
to
Mr. Peter Thomas Smith
in the sacrament of matrimony…

As you can see, all that is necessary is to change “nuptial Mass” to “nuptials.” In the case of a Catholic marrying a non-Christian, that couple could use this form, which omits reference to the sacrament of matrimony (since the baptism of both parties is necessary for a sacramental marriage):

Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Doe
request the honour of your presence
at the nuptials uniting their daughter
Mary Anne
to
Mr. Peter Thomas Smith…
