How do i know i love JESUS?

Hey everyone!!

How do i know i love JESUS??

I feel bad. I always offend HIM, I am impatient, i can be proud, stubborn, disobedient, etc., I am also lazy. How do i know i love HIM?? I crucify HIM each time i sin :imsorry::bighanky::bighanky::bighanky: HOW DO I KNOW I LOVE HIM

I try but i get carried away

i feel i have a calling to the Priesthood? but how can i serve a PERFECT BEING, if i myself am good for nothing?

I deserve hell, and thats not why i cry (mostly), i cry, because i cant go even a day without offending HIM.

HELP PLEASE!!

I feel like a garbage catholic. I call on pelosi and sebellius, when i myself belong in the innermost parts of hell, i feel like a hypocrite!!!

Sounds like you have scrupulously.
  1. Make a good confession (I use to keep sins back when I was younger, but now I just confess everything, including temptations).
  2. Go to Mass on every obligation, and try to go to Weekday masses.
  3. Say Rosary Daily

Trust what I’m about to say- you love Him. A lot. If you didn’t love Him, your sins wouldn’t bother you. You think of how your sins affected Him and it makes you sorrowful.

Do you spend time worrying about offending me? Of course not, you don’t know me or love me-so you don’t care. You care about Christ’s feelings. And you care because you love Him.

The devil will drill it into you “You’re not good enough. You’re not faithful enough. Give up because your love is causing Him pain. You continue sinning. You’ll never be good enough to deserve His love”. He’ll say whatever has to say to drive a wedge between you and Christ. Whispering “garbage catholic” and “hypocrit” in your ear.

You’re not garbage. God doesn’t create garbage. He doesn’t love garbage. He loves YOU! He designed you with such love. Before He created the world, He spent time planning every detail- the perfect color for your hair, the sparkle in your eye, the unique way you laugh. And He was delighted with you. When Jesus was in the Garden, He saw every sin you were going to create and He vowed to save you from them. He loved you that much then. And He loves you as much today. Warts and all. When you sin, He waits for the moment you ask for forgiveness. He lives for it. Forgiving you delights Him. He died so He could offer it to you. And despite your continued sin, He’d do it all again. He loves you that much. And He knows you love Him back.

Been there felt that, you deserve the GRACE of God that Jesus gave you. I am not even catholic but am trying to work my way into the Church. I would tell you Faith is what drives us and Love. It isn’t easy, I always am hard on myself for all my faults. I have a drinking problem and when I relapse I beat myself up for days. I am working on it though everyday and I thank God for send his Son for me. Be blessed.😃
 
I see in your profile that you do pray the Rosary. Pray the Glorious Mysteries b/c the fruit of the mystery for the Descent of the Holy Spirit is “love of God”. Pray to love God above all things, and you will. It already seems as though you love Him (and thus Jesus) b/c if you didn’t, you wouldn’t be worried about offending Him! Those who don’t love God couldn’t care less if they offend Him! Have a you seen a medical doctor? If you haven’t he may want to prescribe you an anti-depressant that may help with scrupulous/ OCD thoughts. Have you asked your parents to take you to a doctor? Sometimes we need both medical intervention and spiritual intervention.
 
This is how you know you love Jesus. You are committed to your relationship with Him. Union is “the mutual giving of oneself to the other without reserve.” Give Him yourself good and bad. Nothing breaks His heart more than when we turn away our faces in shame and embarrassment. He already knows EVERYTHING about you and He chose to be in relationship with you committing Himself to bitter agony and death in order to be with you.

I made this commitment to Jesus, “I promise to never give up no matter how incapable I am of loving you the way you deserve.”

One big barrier we put between Jesus and ourselves is “problems.” We make problems where there aren’t any. I see this even with my boyfriend. I will start making up stories about how he feels or thinks about me and he will always say to me, “Why are you making problems where there aren’t any? I always love you. Just accept it.” I heard a great quote at a relationship retreat once, “We make problems to avoid intimacy.”

So be naked before God and let Him love every bit of you. If you show Him your wounds He will heal them. Just don’t continue to abuse yourself. Love yourself as Jesus loves you…unconditionally. I heard another statement that spoke to me, “You cannot love anyone more than you love yourself.” If you criticize yourself you will probably criticize Jesus, especially where He is the one who made you. Remember who you are to Jesus…His beloved. Look at Him, how beautiful He is, all that He created, all that He has done and continue to learn about WHO He is. Learn His personality. While your eyes are on Him, you forget about your imperfections and weaknesses. Do little things for Jesus like send flowers to your mother (Jesus will receive as though it is to Him.) Do dishes, sweep the floor etc. Jesus accepts every little thing you do for Him with great delight and believe me He doesn’t miss a beat. Sometimes you just have to look at Him with your heart, “You have ravished my heart with your glance.” (Song of Solomon)

I was grappling with this a while back until I heard someone ( or read) mention that you should ask Mary to take your heart and offer your heart to Jesus with her pure love for Him. Another saint I believe asked Jesus to give her His heart so that she could love Him as He loved her which she could only do with Him and through Him. …be careful what you ask for because now sometimes at mass I become overwhelmed to tears with His love and the complete mercy that He bestows on me a totally unworthy sinner…and I thanks and love Him for it.

love is something you grow in, don’t be so hard on yourself with this, God does not want you to be miserable about your own weakness, He knows you’re weak, He knows your inclinations to sin, and He’s not offended at you because you are weak and inclined towards sin, God is offended when we don’t care that we sin, the fact that you do care and it brings you sorrow when you’ve hurt Jesus by your sins, means that you do love God and He is pleased with you.
of course you’re not perfect, but that’s not what God wants from you, all He wants is that you try your best and never give up, never stop caring…but to beat yourself up this way and become depressed because you aren’t as good as you want to be, is the wrong approach, it is a type of pride, because you’re not regarding yourself as the weak creature you really are, you have to accept that as a weak creature totally dependent on God, you are bound to fall…not that you should ever willingly fall, but just expect it, when you sin, say to yourself “this is what i can expect from myself when i do not seek Gods help, Jesus, please help me to never sin this way again.” or something similar to that.

God does not want you to be miserable even about your sins, He wants you to have peace, even if you must be sorrowful for your sins, that doesn’t mean you must feel a physical mourning, it just means you must truly regret your sins, especially because they have offended God.
and also keep in mind, often times God allows someone to fall into sin, even if only small sins, in order to keep them from falling into worse sins, such as pride and vain glory, thinking themselves holier than others or strong of themselves…
we are told that God works in mysterious ways, so even if everything seems like a mess right now, sooner or later it may all fall into place, and you will understand why you had to go through all this.

If you didn’t love him you wouldn’t be struggling, then you would have a problem.

We love him because he deserves to be loved, not because we are deserving to love.

Use the Miraculous Medal and ask Mary for those GREAT graces she promised.

A great thought you can pin your hopes on.
