How do I know if God will answer my prayer?

I have seen it but I don’t understand how to pray a novena to be honest.

John,

Have you considered having a relationship with yourself? That’s what I’m doing right now at this stage of my life. I’m in my late '60s, living alone and actually enjoying it. I wanted relationships so badly in my past that I accepted abuse, ridicule, you name it all because I didn’t want to be alone. I wanted love—.

So now, I’m praying to God to help me develop a relationship with HIM. Why not ask God to build a relationship with you? People can be fickle, they can be cruel (as you and i know), But God will never hurt you. Just ask Him to be your friend, and I’ll bet you He will.

At least it’s worth a try.

Stuart

Firstly, I appreciate your patience. I can completely understand how it feels. I respect to your faith. I recommend you do not loose hope an faith in God. At one u will definitely gifted with what you are looking for. Please wait for your turns and your dream come true.

Hi John,
Gods will for you is perfect and will always bring you the most joy and fulfillment. Believe, trust, and be open. Giving thanks in advance of an answered prayer is always a good idea. Also, if I might suggest a rosary novena, asking Our Lady for her intercession. St. Bridgets 54 day novena has never failed me. I will pray for you. God Love You, Alex

Thank You for praying for me. I always thank God in advance of prayers.

My advice would be to volunteer, join some kind of group, get involved in your church, find a Catholic singles group. You have to be visible for anyone to find you. Perhaps find someone with a disability as well who can relate to your struggles. Best of luck!

It’s kinda tough to put myself out there with no way to get around.

It’s a set of prayer (in this case a rosary with a daily prayer) said for nine days in a row.

I just don’t understand exactly why I just can’t have a decent relationship with a woman who will not be judgemental and it hurts very bad sometimes I wonder if God is preventing because I’ve been hurt and rejected so much.
I’ve been in a place where no advice or strategy or prayer is satisfying, and all that remains is hurt. I know exactly what you’re talking about, although my circumstances are not the same as yours exactly.

When I was in that place, no advice helped. And logic does not work. It just hurts nonstop sometimes.
There are many good suggestions above and I hope you keep looking outward and serving others. I wish I could add a good strategy to stop your hurt but I can’t.
I will pray for you and please I need you to pray for me as well.

I don’t know what to do anymore. It just hurts bad that things are not going well.

God always answers our prayers. Some times the answer is no. Sometimes the answer is “not yet”.
By this reasoning a physic could make the same claim: Sometimes the departed speak to me, sometimes no, sometimes not yet. It is no argument at all.

Except that we believe in a revealed God, who did have a thing or two to say about prayer.

Psychics believe in, well, baloney.

I agree with you that psychics are frauds, but your assertion about God always “answering” prayer is set up as a no-lose proposition if all “answers” (yes, no, not yet) are defined as a success. The same reasoning is open to all gods that are prayed to.

Matthew 21:22:
Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.
Mark 11:24:
So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
We do believe also in the life everlasting. We may not get what we want in this life, but we may hear our prayers answered in the next.

Well…my answers could be wrong but In my opinion you should make a move and start doing it! God is there to guide you as always. Also it depends on like if you truly need it somehow though. ( I guess)

Yes you are right it can be difficult to establish personal friendships where people actually care.
But. Many people have found marriage successful because children binds people together.
