How do I observe Lenten regulations with Diabetes?

I was diagnosed as diabetic six months ago. I have no problem with fasting on Ash Wednesday or any ot the other Fridays in Lent. It’s what I’ve done for years…except I’m not supposed to do this in light of keeping my blood sugar regulated w/o insulin. I need to know if there are any teachings by the Church regarding diabetics and lenten regulations.

Dear bro,

The Church expects us to maintain our health. Health issues always take precedence over rules concerning fasting.
