I appreciate it - thank you & God Bless!!!

I am not familiar with this devotion, so I looked it up online to help find an answer for you. Here is the link I found:

philomena.org/ULRA/livingrosary.html

I am not sure I exactly understand how it is different from being committed to pray a Rosary daily - what else you must do… But maybe I am just skimming it too quickly.

What are you unsure about exactly? If you are more specific it might help me find something on it.

You pray the assigned decade every day (beginning on the date that they sent you in the mail). If that date passed, don’t worry about it just start praying your decade. With the intention of praying with and for the others in your group.

You share together with the prayers of the other people in your rosary group. Even if you only pray that one decade of the Rosary every day, you are credited with praying the whole Rosary. Sharing is a wonderful thing. I think this is also one big reason why we should never neglect to attend Mass each week. Because at Church we are together and our prayers in the Mass together are all shared with each other.

Read “The Secret of the Rosary” by St. Louis Grignion de Montfort sometime. The 46th rose, paragraph 132 (2) says “When we pray in common, the prayers of the individuals belong to the whole assembly and make one great prayer. … the strong uphold the weak, the fervent inspire the lukewam, the wealthy enrich the poor, and the bad are counted as good.”

Praying together with others has often been promoted by Popes and other saints. So you have taken a good step.

On the back of the prayer card of Mary it says “Let us unite with all the members of the living rosary Assoc. throughout the world, and offer this decade of the Holy Rosary and Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and in honour of St. Philomena, Pauline Marie Jaroct and St. Theresa of the Child Jesus…” and it goes on to say for all the people enrolled etc.

So I guess that is the intention that I say?

I then pray the decade which is the Presentation. After it says on the card “O Mary conceived without sin, of Thee I ask a Perfect Love for Jesus Christ”. Then it says “Holy Ghost, I offer Thee the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, His most Precious Blood; the sorrowful, humble, pure, obedient and Immaculate Heart of Mary to repair for all my offenses and negligences. I consecrate myself unreservedly to Thee. I place all my trust in thee. Amen” Do I end of my decade with the offering?

What happens to the Glory Be and the Fatima Prayer? Why is that not said?

Also, Can I pray the whole rosary lets say in the morning and then in the evening do my one decade for the ULR? Praying the rosary is so beautiful and special to me - I don’t want to stop meditating on the other mysteries. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?

I’m so sorry… it’s just that I want to do this whole heartedly and I want to do this right.

This is all very new to me. I appreciate your help!!

In my opinion, you do not need to say words – but rather just remember from time to time that at least part of your intention in praying the Rosary is to pray for all the members (living and deceased) of the Living Rosary Association.

I am not a member of the Living Rosary Association. But I have read about it. I think you are only required to say your decade. But it is very worthwhile to pray frequently to Mary – the Immaculate Conception.

I think what you suggest is the best idea. Pray the Rosary every day (perhaps 5 decades in the morning). And then separately pray your assigned decade for the URL. I think like you – I enjoy praying all the mysteries of the Rosary and would not want to pray the Rosary less.

And go ahead and pray the Glory Be and Fatima Prayer with your URL decade. If I were a member (and I’m thinking about it) I would do that because it is a normal part of my praying each decade.

I enrolled in the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary – see rosary-center.org/nroscon.htm

And coincidentally, my certificate is dated February 2, 2005 – the feast day of the Presentation. So to some extent we are brothers in the faith and also brothers in the Rosary (through that decade).

The Presentation is one of my favorite mysteries to pray. In my mind, I often do this – I waited my turn until Simeon and others have talked with Mary. And then I ask to hold the baby Jesus. And I gently hold Him in my arms as I pray that decade. Sometimes I think Jesus is sleeping and I just hold Him gently. And sometimes He is awake and wants to play with my fingers. In either case, I usually hold the Rosary in my left hand while holding baby Jesus in my left arm. And then He plays with my fingers or grasps a finger on my right hand.

It is a good idea to be equally able to pray the Rosary with either hand. So if you are right handed, develop the ability hold your Rosary with the other hand. In this way, you can do almost everything that you do (with your dominant hand) and not need to stop praying the Rosary. If the need to pray arises, you are all prepared that way.

I am glad that you enjoy the Rosary. I have found it to be a source of great comfort in many circumstances. And interestingly enough my love of the Rosary has not worn off.

So what is your decade? Mine is the Assumption of Mary and my husband is the Crowning with Thorns, the lady that works for me has the Descent of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for your suggestion - it put a smile on my face while reading how you imagine yourself holding Baby Jesus. Just beautiful 👍

Praying the rosary has given me such peace in my heart - it’s unbelievable.

I have the Presentation and I start on March 19. Can you please tell me exactly how you do this? I feel so confused. Help 🤷 (See my thread which is the fourth from the top. Thanks)

This is how I do it. I do the Sign of the Cross and say I offer this decade of the Assumption for the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and in honor of St. Philomena, then I pray the Our Father and the 10 Hail Marys, I also do the Glory Be and the Fatima prayer because in my opinion they are part of the decade also, my decade is NOT part of my regular rosary, it is said separately and at a separate time. Hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions you may have, hopefully I will have an answer. God Bless.

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you 😃 That’s what I needed to know. How is it that something that is so simple, it just does not register sometimes. Now just one more question, the prayers that are on the back of the Prayer Card of Mary such as the offering - do you say those too? Or is it something that can be said anytime not necessarily with the decade?

I don’t do the offering prayer, never had the habit, but my husband says it faithfully every day, in my opinion, the decade is the most important thing, but I say if your heart tells you to say it then I say follow your heart. God Bless.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I will say a prayer for him.
