exactly my thought

having been Catholic for a fraction of my life I have never witnessed anyone receiving the Eucharist on the tongue.I feel like I am not missing out on much? if one is faithful does it really matter?
My intention here is not to hurt anyone, but to bring this huge matter to light.
To heal as many as I can from ignorance.
Had said that, answering you, it does REALLY matter, and you are missing out much, but sadly as you explained, you are not the only one, even priests.
Today there is an inversion of values: To intention is no longer to subordinate
The human being to what is divine, holy, sacred, to live life according to faith and the bible, according to Jesus. On the contrary, Gospel, is being adapted to this worldliness.
There is much talk of the “signs of these times,” according to the Bible and according to the world, but is this criteria prevails over the Word of God, and so people even tend to recognize vices as virtues , mistaking dawn with dusk
of this generation.
That is the current problem. Two virtues, Humility and Obedience, obscuration
by pride and rebellion.
These evils infect the relation of man with God at a liturgic level. More or less unconsciously, the man suffering from this disease can not
humble themselves before the challenge of that a white little circle, seemingly insignificant, is actually untouchable for him. It is the selfish, arrogant man that, skeptically, as Tomas, he wants to “touch” to believe. But there was repression to Tomas, and bliss for those who believe without being influenced by feelings
two.
So many, possessed of themselves and believing they know it all will continue to do what the did, considering them worthy of such honor, of touching the biggest treasure on Earth. Some will convince themselves that that what they are doing is right, that everyone does it, and that their personal criteria can not be diverted. I am saying this to the humble and simple that with good will, want more information, to better serve and love God.
Mother Teresa of Calcufa. Filled with experience, wisdom and, especially,
Holiness MANIFESTED that the thing that made her the saddest was to see people receive the Holy Eucharist in the hand. 3
No wonder that the same spirit that make her said that was in St. Teresa of Avila, to make her exclaim: "You, Eternal Father, what is your consent? Why do you want to see each day to your Son in such hands? "4

“No tongue is more holy than the hand”
Its not matter of anatomy but of dignity. It is a revelation and a traditional liturgical achievement that we accept with humility and obedience.
The Liturgy speaks of the “holy and venerable hands” of Jesus. So are the Priests of the day of his ordination, but not those of the simple faithful, suitable for secular functions. The hands touch everything, even the lowest, is deposited in the tongue just what is clean and pure. Also grabbing something with the hands give an expression of dominace over the object. The Holy Eucharist is a gift from God without us deserving it.
On my part, I receive the Holy Eucharist in my tongue and on my knees. I feel no other way but just fall to my knees in the presence of the most Holy thing in the enire universe, our Lord Jesus Chirst. Some time ago I was the only one in the church that kneel. Now many follow my example.
