How do I remain in the Catholic Church

Thanks mangy dog. There is no Confession at this parish but I will be able to go to Confession tomorrow in a neighboring town. I am listening to all that is being said here and will make the effort to stay.

Look to the example of St. John the Baptist preaching in the “desert”.
The desert of these people’s hearts. You must renounce yourself, remain holy and peacefully anounce (every chance you get) the Good News, the Sound Doctrine.
Carry and wear your sacramentals, find a good, holy priest to bless your sacramentals, daily read the scriptures and become familiar with excorcism prayers to rebuke those who would attack you at the prompting of Lucifer.
Your battles will become spiritually more intense. Arm yourself for the mission.

Well, I’d still move

People will move into good school districts, how much more important is a good Church community…

But, I know relocating is a difficult thing because of so many factors: commute, family considerations, etc.

Well, a similar question was asked of my OCDS spiritual assistant. His answer made all the sense.

He said, do as St. Teresa of Avila advised, “in times of crisis in the Church, be better Catholics.”

Remember, St Teresa was living in some very troubling times, including the Spanish Inquisition, but also suppression of contemplative prayer. She lived through crisis, that is beyond anything you’re living through today.

In the history of the Church, it was the Saints who lived the Gospel as it should, who reformed the Church. Those who got into the political squabbles, ended up leaving. This is because they were serving their own agenda, rather than God’s.

If your priest is a member of Call to Action, I would not let the door hit my behind on the way out of that church. I would get out and get out fast, as he will lead you where you do not want to go.

You know, I have already been there done that on all the issues that some of you are bringing up. The Biship is not going to address this problem, period. I know the difference between liturgical abuse and whinning. I appreciate your (name removed by moderator)ut Suester and have considered all that you have said at an earlier period of time. Should I abandon my conscience just to fit in when the Holy Spirit is clearly not saying the same things to me? This is not a question of social justice or human rights. This is a last ditch effort on my part to try and remain in the Catholic Church.

Hi Holland I have been in the same boat and hated it. All seemed so fare removed from the Holy Spirit in the Catholic church. Many seened to pay their way in and try to pay their way to heaven (which could never be). I have stayed there for some thirty years and although I have not been that distance away as you from another church I found relief in knowing that I could not have communion in any other church the way the catholic church does. I could not adore Jesus in the tabinacle in any other church so I stayed.

But for my sanity and building of relationship with Jesus I would go to a prayer group in another church just to be with like minded bible people. I would go to mass and forget about the others there and just adore Jesus. I formed a relationship with Jesus fell in love with Him. I read the bible repeatedly and through that building of the relationship, communion, and prayer I am now so much stronger and have a strong love for Jesus.

Jesus tells us to “be still and know that He is God”
Remember that Jesus was hated by those in His own church and they killed Him, they even know reject Him.
