How do I respond to claims that Easter is tied to paganism?

I have been challenged my my anti-catholic step-mother (whom I get along with, FYI) to look into the history of Easter and answer the claims that Easter is rooted in paganism. Some of the claims are as follows:

The name “Easter” is from the Germanic “Ostern” or from the Asyrian goddess “Ishtar.”
Worship involved fertility practices.
Easter eggs are pagan symbols of fertility and new life.
Easter bunny is a pagan symbol for fertility.
The 40 days of Lent were the 40 days of weeping for Tammuz
Finally, something about a calender change that was too complicated for me to understand.

The response I have come across in my research has been basically, “who cares” or “any paganism has been forgotten and no longer practiced.” That is fine, but my step-mother cares, and I am being challenged to respond. So any helpful information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
