How do I respond to someone (on CAF) who thinks that there should be no rules or laws

:rolleyes: Recognize that you are dealing with either a troll, or someone who is very young and silly. I wouldn’t get too engaged with either one. It wastes a lot of your time and isn’t going to do him/her any good.
 
Would he object if someone, either a total stranger or someone he knew, came up to him and beat him until he was senseless … and after he was down, to kick him until every bone was broken.

If he doesn’t mind, then suggest he volunteer for SEAL training. [In fact, get the papers and tell him to sign.]

Without laws to control and direct traffic, we would have innumerable road tragedies…
The universe itself has laws. If the earth broke those laws and spun off by itself into space all life on earth would be obliterated.
You could, point out any number of natural laws,
including those that his own body employs, and if ignored he can become ill or die
but the person’s claim isn’t logical or reflective, so he may not be open to reason.
 
Some people believe in complete anarchy. If they don’t want to change their mind, then let them be.

Isn’t it best to have Fun, and help a person Think about their attitude? I’de Get The Message, if Edward H gave me that Line! 😃 His Holiness Pope Benedict issued a statemt 2 years ago that Humor is one of the most Effective teaching methods. 👍

We Catholics have a Moral responsibility, if we know How, like Edward H DOES!. We Catholics don’t let evil and crazy ideas slide, If we know How To address. How do we Know they don’t want to start Thinking morality? Only Crazies are set are set in their ways, until diagnosed and appropriate cures begun by MD’s. In our worrld, by appropriate our vast Social Services. There is also Law Enforcement for Active Anarchists :whistle: And EWTN All electronic sources. Mother Angelica has a way.
 
Our Lord set the precedent on following proper laws, on Taxes! “Give unto Ceaser that which is Ceaser’s…” Fred Conty, # 15, a (very common) sense of humor has been called an ideal teaching/thought-provoking tool by Pope Benedict 2 years ago (Not infallibly! just creativelly.)

Lay off the academic, oneupsmanship…develop true, sincere, generous friendships…and if over time someone - moved by the Holy Spirit in you - asks you a question of doctrine or dogma…set up a short period of time…do effortful preparation…ask for God’s help…and sit down and charitably and confidently and cheerfully explain the Church’s opinion. End before it gets any where close to being heated.
