How do I say Thank You to God?

How do I say Thanks to God?

I am always asking Him for help, guidance and care of my family but when I pray to thank Him it seems kind of pathetic in a way, Like I ask God to do HUGE things and I say thanks like he’s handed me my change at the store.

For instance, if I wanted to thank a friend, I would send flowers, write a card or give a nice gift…

but how can I thank God?

Does anyone know what I mean?

You open up your heart, and speak to Him as if He were a friend sitting right next to you. This is the way I have always spoken to God. I save formal prayers for the synagogue!

I have had many reasons to thank God recently, and He has helped me so very much, esp. over the last year as I took care of my dying mother. I was very overworked, between caring for my children and taking care of her, and many times I felt very exhausted in every way…and each time I felt ready to give up, God would send the number “613” my way, and it would pop up whenever I felt stressed to the point where I couldn’t handle it anymore…I’d see it in check numbers, phone numbers, the time on clocks, it even happened this afternoon when I was at the bank, deposting my mom’s stimulus check into the estate account…I looked to see the date to write it on the deposit slip, and it was June 13th (6/13!)

In case you’re not aware, 613 is the number of commandments in the Torah…one of which is “honor thy father and thy mother”. I felt that God was sending those little reminders to me to say, “hang in there, remember you are doing this not only for your mother, but for Me!”

God has done so many things…I was afraid I had a heart condition because of something my dr saw at a visit, and I prayed to ask God to heal me if anything was wrong…and when I got the echocardiogram, they saw no signs at all of what my dr thought was wrong, and my dr cannot understand why its not there anymore!

We need to thank God for everything He sends our way, the bad as well as the good. We need to see that there is a reason for everything He does, even if we don’t yet see the big picture as He always does!

Just thank Him, just do it, as the Nike slogan says!

Flowers I would pick on as a walked (here in Australia we can freely pick flowers that hang outside of fences). Just something simple and small as a quite human way of saying “Thank you”. Nowadays I see we can buy flowers at our local supermarket.
