How do I see Jesus in my "undeserving" neighbor? Mat 25:31-46

When you reach the part about the Missionaries of Charity, Mother Teresa’s order, you will read that they are selective about who comes to receive their assistance.

It reminds me of the scripture: “Be wise as serpents and gentle as doves.”

And where do I find Christ in a person who walked around in a drunken stupor, had a mouth like a Hong Kong sailor, who got arrested and spent time in jail for theft and lied and cheated every day of his life? How do I find Christ in that person? How far am I supposed to go to aid this person? Should the Catholic Church behind us not have called the police when his pit bulls would get loose and run around on the Church property? Was the Church wrong for not reimbursing him the $300 he spent to get his dogs back (yes, he went to the Church office and told them they owed him $300)? Should they have given him the money? Would Christ have given him the money? What would you have done?

It seems obvious to me that you don’t know or read scriptures much. I can be wrong. Get to know how Jesus handled issues and you would find He did it with Love, Kindness, and tact. Always keeping to God’s plan. Unless you read scriptures we will be going around in circles. Kindness and a clean heart is the best approach to most situations. Read then live the Bible

Tell me, do you have a savings or retirement account? A home with furnishings? Do you have anything that exceeds your needs? Until you give everything you have to the poor, then and only then will have a place in heaven. This is from the Bible; Jesus Himself, to be specific. The fact that you are on-line and using some type of computer device to post makes it *seem obvious to me * that you do not practice what you preach. See how that works? Remove the plank from your own eye before you criticize the mot in mine.

Love and Kindness is still the best way to see others,even if you despise them, Timothysis

Walk a mile in another’s shoes before you make a judgement. If you had those neighbors of mine next door to you and your children, you would have seen things in a different light.

And nice dodge on living according to the Bible.

This is a daily struggle for me, as I work with an impoverished public in the city. People act so badly in public, and my instinct is to rise up and tell people to go home, get some manners, and come back when they’re ready to behave in public. I chide myself for judging, I act loving the next go-round, I get walked over, and then I feel bad for enabling bad behavior on their part. But when I resist it, even in a loving way, the act of resistance turns on all those fighting switches inside and I’m back to the Old West sheriff mentality: behave or get out. I’ve done this long enough to know the Christian way is better, but there are some people who I *really *want to see get a kick in the pants, especially teenagers with attitudes. If it weren’t for prayer, I couldn’t make it through the day without becoming completely undone on some days. That “least of these” Gospel from two weeks ago has really been a stern reminder for me to be better, to submit more of my ego before Christ.
