My wife and I are still going through some issues dealing with 2 different religions. I am Catholic since day 1, and she is non denominational. She refuses to acknowledge anything about the Catholic Church. We were not married in the Catholic Church and the Church does not recognize our marriage. She has agreed to get our marriage blessed in the Church but any children we have can not be raised as Catholic. They can go to Church with me but just not raised as a Catholic. I know the Catholic Church tells says I must do everything in my power to raise the child in the Church. What does this exactly mean and how do I know what everything in my power is short of us separating. We do not have any children yet and I do not want to get our marriage blessed until this is resolved. Our marriage is on the verge of splitting because of all this. Now she wants us to find a totally different church we both agree on. I never want to leave the Catholic Church. I guess I could go to 2 different churches just to appease her. I told her though once our marriage is blessed, I want to become much more active in the Church, not sure where I would have time to go to 2 churches.
Any thoughts anyone?

Dear friend,

Perhaps you need to go your own separate ways. I don’t see any workable solution under the present circumstances. I know this isn’t easy to read. I will remember you both during my daily hour before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
