How do I stop please help me???

Ok so I’m 14 and I need advice on how to stop masterbating… If any of you can help me get through this crisis please leave your advice here and if you say that it is normal and not a sin to masterbate… I just really don’t want that kind of advice because I’m catholic and believe in God and life is important… If any of you will be willing to keep me in your prayers please I really want to stop… I want to be clean and when that time comes for me to have kids… I want it to be special and if I keep up this act, it won’t be so special… Also I think Im abusing Gods gift of sexuality so may you give me advice and keep me in your prayers… God Bless.!!
 
Everyone’s just going to say pray, go to confession, avoid the internet, do your homework, become a priest, wear a chastity belt, do a devotional, avoid girls, etc.

There I did it for everyone.

LOL that was good advice.

If you really want to get of you have to avoid what is tempting you. If the internet is tempting you, then don’t go to those websites. The best thing to do is to get someone to watch what you do online, or move your computer to the living room. That’s what I did.
Try the St. Michael the Archangel prayer, it really helps me in time of temptation.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Be sure that if you do well… Do “it” immediately go to confession. Try to go to Mass more than once a week, if your studies permit it. If not, pray the Rosary. This is the best advice I can give you.🙂

I will pray for you this whole week. Remember someone is praying for you every morning and evening for 7 days starting today. If you get the urge, remember someone is on her rosary praying for you, steal yourself to get through the day. I will pray for a guardian angel to be constantly by your side helping you go through each day and helping you to survive the urge.

Do not condemn yourself too much. I would think the age is a contributory factor.

No, this won’t help a 14 year old. I think it’s terrific that at such a young age, the OP see’s the problem with masturbation and wants to do something about it. Now I will say this, what the OP is just discovering is that this is going to be something very difficult to over come, God is asking us nothing less than to over come our most base nature, for good reason, but that doesn’t make it easy. To give the OP perspective, sexuality in general, and this specifically is something all grown men still struggle with, sadly due to pop-psychology most don’t even see the problem with it.

All I can say is keep praying (I suggest the rosary), keep going to confession, keep your determination up, but don’t give in to dispair or any sense of hopelessness. You’re going to fail over the years, it happens. You’re probably going to fail alot especially now since this is something you’re just discovering. We as humans do very poorly handling those things which we have very little experience with (hence, it’s a good idea to listen to your parents). As you grow older, gain more expereince with the hormones and things your feeling you’ll do better.
