How do I stop the children from going around the altar?

Our parish has one priest that “invites all children age 7 & older” around the altar for the Eucharistic prayer & the Consecration.
I know this is not permissible & would like to find any documents that are available that tell me why.
I would like to attempt to stop this & need suggestions how.
