I am interested in being enrolled into wearing the brown scapular but I have one concern. How can I wear it safely at night while co-sleeping with my nursing baby? I know that night garments should not have strings that could get tangled up near the baby while sleeping. I’m just wondering what other breastfeeding mothers who wear a scapular do about this?

I can’t speak for breastfeeding mothers, but I’ve worn a brown scapular for over a decade, and been enrolled in the brown scapular since 2000, and I don’t wear it to bed, without any particular reason not to do so except an unwillingness to sleep while wearing it. In your case, you have serious reason not to wear something in bed that could cause harm to your child. Take off the scapular, without worry or scruple. Rest assured that God does not want you to wear something to bed that would be unsafe for a co-sleeping child.
