It is of no concern to me what Protestants think about the Mass. :nope: Too much time has already been given to that, and we are worse off for it.

Well personally I think the problem is the other way around. Protestant churches imitating the post-Vatican II Catholic Church, and losing all of their traditional beauty in the process. But if we continue the imitation, and adopt some of the texts from your splendid new Mass translation, it will be a very welcome step backwards.

I think Bran means “A step forward, in continuity with the past.”
We never go backwards, but we can go forwards without throwing everything away from the past.

Backwards as in resembling how we used to worship. Protestant never said “and also with you” before Vatican II. We said “and with thy spirit”.

i was raised in the episcopal church in the 50’s and 60’s. i loved our book of common prayer from 1928. i am looking forward to the new liturgical changes in the Catholic church. since i have been Catholic for 3 years now, i don’t know that protestant liturgical churches are aware that we are changing anything.

You meant a step backwards for Catholics. Closer to a traditional Protestant response.

Yup. All the Protestant liturgical churches jumped on the band-wagon to copy the NO liturgy, and abandoned perfectly beautiful and theologically full liturgies for what I will politely call something less beautiful and theologically full.Well personally I think the problem is the other way around.
