Who Wears The Trousers In Sudan?
In the video the woman is ordered to her knees. The attack begins. She shrieks ‘No please no’ and wails in pain, humiliation, and fear. The beating continues. On at least one occasion one of two camel hair whips strikes her in the face. By the end she is crying for her mother.

Her arrest and punishment come under Sudan’s version of sharia laws which were widened when President Bashir took power in a coup in 1989. They conflict with the constitution but as ever in such places what are deemed by men to be God’s laws trump secular laws.

Sudan’s judiciary is investigating the whipping, saying “This woman was punished under sharia, Islamic law, but there was a mistake in the way the punishment was carried out.” It’s unclear if they mean that she was struck in the face, that men are seen laughing at her plight, or that it was filmed. The beatings are in public, but as in Saudi Arabia, the authorities believe other countries should not see justice in action.

I wonder what this lady’s crime was. Of course, the government would not want other countries to find out about their “justice in action;” it only shows their cruelty.

Stone to the head

(Of all the verses in Scripture, it’s here that Muhammad decides to take Jesus literal and honor His words as if He actually is God). 🤷

That is quite uncalled for. Do you realize how rare that problem really is? Besides, it is certainly not something that is approved of by the Church.

Everyone acknowledges (including the Pope if you have bothered to read what he said about child abuse in the Catholic Church) that the abuse of children is evil and wicked. Sharia Law and its punishments are laid down in Islamic Law.
There is absolutely no comparison.

I don’t mean to insult. The OP asked how does muslims explain this… we explain this by saying that we don’t condone it and it doesn’t represent us or our faith.

Same as the Catholic Church condemns and don’t stand for Child molestation.

Sharia Law doesnt lash women for wearing trousers. Crazy governments do. I know the catholic Church doesnt condone child molestation and that is not what the majority of priests do or condone. I just wanted people to understand that asking us to explain this is simply as asking you to explain Child molestation by priests.

Public or private isnt the issue now. Our governments suck . and to lash a woman for wearing trousers is not found under islamic law.
 
Hi jack,

I intended on purpose to write a short and vague comment and knew i would get this. I am not backpeddling in any way and there is no gain or loss for me here. It isnt like suddenly i won’t sleep because my faith or me was attacked . I get this every day reading posts here. But what i learnt is that long arguments are futile.

The OP trying to ask me to explain this. I think it doesnt represent me or my faith. I think justice in general is lost in the middle east and muslims governments and nations are in crisis simply because they are holding to the rituals of islam and destroying its core. Lashing poor women and kissing the behinds of dictatorship rulers. I cannot explain what some ignorant bunch in Sudan are doing. And frankly i am tired of explaining. **** happens when people are uneducated in every way .

All the posters on this thread are up in arms , good. I will not explain my faith and i dont think my faith needs explanation. The world is full of injustice and not everything that a government acting in the name of islam does is ‘‘actually’’ islamic.

Every **** happens in the failed states of the muslim world get thrown at muslims to explain their ‘‘faith’’

Yes i inteded to shock the posters here… may be they uinderstand that we are not a bunch of women hating guys. And that **** can happen from people in the same religious group and it doesnt represent the others. Did it hurt because its a big scandal in the world now? well guess what … death of innocent people hurts me too!! and i get stuff like that thrown at me every day !!!

I didn’t intend to insult. But yes i intended my post to be shocking. I dont backpedal and i dont need to. Weather any of you here want to support the rights of Muslims is your own choice. Its yr own consious. If you are gonna change yr mind because ‘‘you think’’ i intended to insult catholicism then go ahead.

If muslims object to these violent acts against women…and other faiths…and homosexuals and cartoonists…why are there no public objections to it? Why are there no positive acts to straighten out these " perversions of the real islam"? Blaming these acts on governments is disingenuous…islam…sharia…IS the government. Some critical of islam believe that Mohammed was a pedophile and their documentation is very convincing.🤷

I expect that they also feel conflicted by the situation in that reaction to it tends to make them feel as if their religion is being attacked at the same time - a bit like the reaction to the whole molesting priests issue became/becomes an opportunity to attack Catholicism itself.

This girl bieng lashed is probably a normal lady whose only guilt is that like any other girl and boy , want to follow fashion . Big deal… 100,000 person die in my home country Egypt of traffic accidents… 4000 girls commit suicide because they lost hope of having a husband , or their hearts has been crushed. No body dared to think about lashing the reponsible people behind these deaths.

There is a gazillion things the Muslim world needs to do before remotely thinking about lashing anybody. I am saying this and i am a religious muslim.

Our countries are in crisis… failed states… and this is not because of Islam. Half the people of my country couldnt write their name. One of my neighbours didnt know that there was something called the North pole!!

shoving every tragedy in the face of Muslims asking them to defend Islam isnt helping anybody .
