So admonishing protestants is okay or not?

She may be saying that anyone who speaks out against their religion should be admonished! I have seen this on this forum; when former catholics speak out about their experience while in the church, some of the catholics in here really blast them! BTW, I would love to hear Max Lucado preach!👍

Thank you, Mother pr, for your rebuke, but the truth hurts! And believe it or not, our church(The Way Fellowship) teaches both the crucifixion and the resurrection:thumbsup:
So does ours; Who do you think is in the Tabernacle underneath that Crucifix? 😃

i dont take much of what is said in any particular order in the gospels because a lot of it is out of order when comparing the time with another of the books. so something that happened well before the time of jesus ministry would be even less reliable (timewise) then during the ministry and when you think about it when people tell a story of something in thier past the story does have slight twists to what actually happened. when the angel spoke he would have been in shock at such a thing happening , wouldnt you ? so he probably only took in some of what was said at that time and later more things came to him. being a man in the time he was he would then have applied what he gathered in a physical way and assumed the baby was concieved not of him but of another man.
What I am trying to tell you is that Joseph knew himself to be a virgin, and yet, here was his fiancée pregnant. Joseph was absolutely certain that he was not the father of her child, because he had never had sex with her - they were not yet married.

Naturally, he assumed that another man had done this to her. What the Angel explained to him was that it was not another man; it was the Holy Spirit.

Absolutely not! Shame is necessary, just like guilt. I want my children to feel guilt and shame for doing wrong.
Guilt is a gift from God; it tells you that you need to go to Confession, just as pain is a gift from God that lets you know that you need to go to the doctor. 🙂

as niether you nor i nor the writer of the gospel were there to witness things first hand we must have faith in what we believe to have happened. i have absolutely no problem with your belief and i wish i had it in me to be able to believe that way about this issue but i just can not , as i have said , get my head around it. i dont see how my difference on this issue would seperate me from the things that are more crucial to being a christian. does it really matter about such trivial things when you look at the beliefs of so called ‘christians’ like westboro baptist and others who have such distorted and hatefilled agendas attached to thier beliefs ? do these people love thier neighbour ? i can honestly say there is not one person in the world that i hate , i may hate things they have done and said but not them themselves. i have met too many people who do hate the person and not just their actions or words and unfortunately i came across members of Cathlocism who were like that , if a person has it in them to blatantly show such hatred at another person wouldnt you agree that is far more of a sin against christianity than not believing in a vigin birth ?

and just to clear things up a bit about this little rant i am not anti catholic as i do admire a lot about true Cathlocism and i am not homosexual (incase you thought that by mentioning westboro) although due to my medical history i am often considered one.

I’m pretty sure that you have used the ROFL icon and sometimes it seems like the person you were responding to, was making a serious statement about their belief;
Nope–never in response to someone making a “serious statement about their belief”.

I would have *shame *if someone could provide evidence that I’ve done this, (and rightly be admonished for doing so!)

'zactly!

Pain is sometimes necessary to serve as a warning to stop our behavior–else we might continue putting our hand on the fire!

Just like guilt is sometimes necessary.

Are Muslims God’s children? What about Jews?
Well that depends on what you are going for here. We know that God so loved the world, so with the broadest stroke of the brush, everyone is God’s child (especially considering descent). Now if you are refering to being the seed from Christ we can look at John 12:24. There Christ described a new wheat which and the new seed that will follow. He is the wheat and we are the seed. So, the new covenant has been placed upon every Jews and Gentile who follows Christ.

My “admonishing protestants” comment was really a price-check on our status. If we see anyone from the catholic (little “c”) church being abrasive, making mistakes, or otherwise opposing Christ’s teaching, I think we do have a responsibility to correct. I too am often more matter-of-fact with corrections when I probably should be doing them with a PM. I am going to try to work on that, so any non-Christians who wander in don’t see bickering. The problem is, we need to be always aware of our discussions and the tone they take. If things become too heated here, my response (as of late) is to tell the person I am withdrawing for the conversation because of their lack of charity (or whatever) and say I’ll be happy to return to the conversation when it changes. But we shouldn’t pound away with comments that have been raging for hundreds of years.

As for Oak Hills. We have two things drawing us there. Max has to be the most humble man I have ever met. There are others in this town and they find ways to draw out their name. Max tries to hide his name, every chance he gets. He does nothing for his own glory and I can’t help but see God through that. Our second thing is, my parents attend there. It is very nice to be able to stand next to your parents in worship. It has something I have not had for 17 years and I really want to try to relish it as long as I can.

Pain is a reminder that you live in corpus.

I don’t think there’s many people on this forum that hate* anyone*. 🤷
sorry but i tend to take it as hatred of the person when somebody is called an it or a thing rather than a person as has happened to myself and others here

Well, let’s see; in the Bible, Joseph of Arithmethea and Nicodemus were under it aftr He died, and Mary Magdelene, and Mary and a few disciples!

Do you know for sure that Joseph was a virgin? Some catholics have said that he was married before and had other children:confused:

I, too, celebrate her joy in Christ and am humbled by her love of God and her fellow Protestants–esp those who protest against Catholicism. She just has never shown any love for Catholics here. 🤷
Sorry you feel that way and if I have not shown love, I apolige. I do not agree with all the CC teaches but I love Jesus and I love you and all Catholics with the love of the Lord. I dearly love my husband he is my best friend here on earth, but I do not always agree with him. So God Bless you on your journey with our Savior.
