Oh me too I love your posts and alwaays agree with them and get a lot of heat as you are aware of. But thanks be to God it does’t bother me, cause i know in whom I believe in.
It woild be a pleasure to have a couple of pots of coffee and talk Jesus all day. One thing I miss in the CC is we do not ever have a good old fashioned testemony service, where all come together and tell of the goodness of our Lord and how He has done great things for us. I sure could talk your leg off about the great things He has done for me and my family. I just love to give Him praise and thanksgiving. Do you have that at your church? God Bless

Yes, we do have testimonies(everyone has one) and it is so moving to listen to accounts of people being transformed by Jesus!

Always had one in my old Church and I do miss it. If not for Hubby that is where I would be. But I feel that I must be with him. I donot dislike the church just have a hard time swallowing everthing. So I just try and worship God dueing service and think of all good things about Jesus.]

While I can see how someone professing to be a Catholic who’s rude to you could be a turn-off, the only reason you should convert to anything is…
because it’s true.
You should weigh what’s been presented here based on how it conforms to the Truth. Not on how cutely or sweetly or funnily or offensively or drily or sarcastically it’s been presented. Did Jesus establish a church? If so, was it the church that the 1st century Christians belonged to? If so, how did they worship? Did they celebrate the Eucharist? Did they venerate Mary? Did they pray for the dead?
Find the Truth, no matter how distastefully it’s been presented, and follow it.

What is being objected to is analogous to someone going to a Muslim forum, claiming to be a Christian, yet stating, “I don’t really believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I don’t care what Christianity says about the Resurrection–it’s between me and my God anyway and God is quite okay with my believing Jesus did NOT rise from the dead.”
If you were a Christian on that forum, you would rightly admonish this “Christian” for professing something quite contrary to Christianity.
Similarly, if someone is a Catholic, but professing things quite contrary to Catholicism, we are obligated to adminish her.

Absolutely not! Shame is necessary, just like guilt. I want my children to feel guilt and shame for doing wrong.
Certainly, pathologic shame and pathologic guilt have no place in a Christian’s life, but I have no problem with good old shame or guilt when it causes us to change our sinful ways.
Of course! But Catholics are called to perform Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, and to admonish the sinner is one of those works of mercy.

LOL is not usually offensive, but some people tend to be very sensitive when it comes to their religion; good example is fbl9! He got all bent, when he thought I was making light of his words, something, as I alluded to earlier, we all have done! And then you come out of left field, saying,“Shame on you, 1beleevr!” I don’t believe we have the right to tell anyone, “Shame on you!” On May 15, I will celebrate(and loudly too!) 43 years of following the TRUTH! Like you, I only know tweetymom from the forum, but you both appear to be incredible sisters in Christ! And while I do not want to get in the middle of a discussion about whether she is being disloyal to the catholic church, I celebrate not her disagreement with certain aspects of thechurch’s doctrine, rather her joy in knowing that she is free in Christ, and thrilled to shout it out to whomever will listen! If you feel the need to admonish her that is between you and her! God bless both of you!

If I ever denied Christ, I would hope that I would feel shame about that. If I ever hit my children, i would hope that I would feel shame about that. If I ever cursed my husband, i would hope that I would feel shame about that…

I’m pretty sure that you have used the ROFL icon; and sometimes it seems like the person you were responding to, was making a serious statement about their belief, but because it didn’t agree with the catholic point of view, you thought it outrageous(or so LOL&ROFL would suggest). I have turned my back on my Jesus, but have never denied Him! What I felt was not shame, but humility, when I realized that I had turned away from the One who gave me life! And unfortunately, I have cursed and belittled my wife, but the Holy Spirit convicted my heart and I tearfully apologized and asked her forgiveness!

I choose not to judge tweetymom, or comment on where she is spiritually,or what denomination she is! I do not believe that God identifies us by what religion we adhere to, just as His children!
Religious titles are what people give themselves while here on earth! So many have a need to be identified as a member of a certain church, denoomination, etc! When you and I and yes, tweetymom are standing, or better yet kneeling before our Saviour, it won’t matter a hill of beans what religion you were down here!
