How do people with scrupulosity go to confession?

And that should honestly be the end of it. Full stop. Talk to a trained professional.
 
I stand by my original statement.

Doesn’t negate some of what you said either… But doesn’t mean what I said isn’t true either.

Often the root of these conditions is a desire to be perfect beyond ones state.

I’m merely emphasizing God’s mercy.

He is a loving father not a cruel taskmaster. Scrupulosity effects how we view our relationship with God.

Oftentimes yes it is a disorder but realize the false thinking in it…
 
And yes a regular confessor and or support group is recommended. And hopping from confessor to confessor and seeking spiritual direction from multiple people doesn’t help either. Find one and stick to it. It will help be more grounded in reality…
 
I have a touch of scrupulosity as well my friend. However, God knows what is in your heart - scrupulous adherence to minutiae is not the answer. But if you have need of some guidance, read the following: Matthew 22:34-40, Mark 1: 15 - there’s plenty more where that came from. We poor humans cannot be perfect only through God’s grace can we be saved. God bless you, DarkLight (love that name)!
