How do priests say mass alone?

It’s a pretty basic question but one I have always wondered about

How are the responses done? Are they skipped or does the priest say them himself?

I imagine same way I say Rosary alone, I say the responses to Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.
 
My GUESS is that the rubics indicate what responses can be skipped when the priest is celebrating by himself (just like there are some differences in the rubics when celebrating the Liturgy of the Hours by oneself.
 
I was able to see priests saying the Tridentine Mass all by themselves, and as far as I understood they say everything, their part and the part of the faithfull. But I have no clue what they do in the Novus Ordo.

So according to this link the responses are omitted.

It also says that there is no official standard.
