How do Protestants regard Mary the mother of Jesus?

(WE DO NOT THINK SHE GIVES US SALVATION)
Really?
Throughout scripture the church is represented by a woman. A good example of the issue could be chapter 12 of the book of Revelation. So all people from different Christian denominations believe their church, or the woman, would give them salvation. Of course it takes a little of spiritual growth to understand it. Just to give all protestant brothers something to think about I would imply the fact that our doctrine, Catholic doctrine, has been around for more than 2000 years, while the other numerous doctrines were in a sence inagurated yesterday.

The ‘she’ in my response is Mary.

We Catholics do not think Mary gives us salvation.
Any power she has is given by Christ and not of her own.

As far as the Church …
I’m with ya!!
Matt 28:18-19 … all authority on heaven and earth is given to Jesus
John 20:21 “as the Father has sent me, so I send you”
Luke 10:16 “whomever hears you, hears me … whomever rejects you, rejects me…”

Yes, Jesus gave his Church all authority that God gave Him.

(THE SHE IN MY RESPONSE IS MARY)
From a neutral point of view, when we mention Mary we need to go beyond whatever they teach in the protestant church about the subject. We all go to church to learn the doctrine. The doctrine is going to be told and taught in a specific manner. For example, the Jehova Witness’ doctrine revealed the end of the wordl by 1914. Their theory, JW, is based on Biblical grounds. The way they interpreted the Bible is where they got it wrong.
Jessy Jackson on the other hand, is advocating the right of our gay brothers in the name of God, and according to his understanding he has Bible grounds for it. That is what we call doctrine, doctrine according to the church of choice. This church is the woman of the Bible, or the woman in chapter 12 of the book of Revelaton. That is why our Catholic doctrine celebrates Dec/12 or 12/12 as the day of the Virgin Mary. Pretty standar stuff.

Achatius:
As a protestant I still regard Mary as a very important figure who is to be revered and held in a position of glory; but I don’t honour her often, I don’t speak to her, pray to her, or anything. To me she is more like any other important figure in the bible really, say one of the apostles; in my church Jesus is the only one who is in the postion Catholics hold Mary in.

I hope not 😦 - We know Mary is only something made by God, a creature: but Jesus Christ we adore as Our Lord & Our God & Our Redeemer. In comparison with her Son, Mary is less than nothing

" And the beast was allowed to wage war against God’s holy people and to overcome them". This is part of verse 7 of chapter 13 of the book of Revelation, does it ring a bell?
