I always donate a hug-- even when it might not be the usual etiquette. Ultimately you only feel awkward if you are challenged by your maleness IMO.

As I’m massive and everyone knows I’m tough as nails, no one feels awkward!
🙂

For guys its a big step in the male-male relationship. It’s a commitment. Once you initiate the hug then you’re sort of locked into it the next time etc. You dont just down grade a hudg to a handshake unless you want to signal discontent.

My family is from Asia. We’re never big on the hugging thing, male or otherwise. The men in my family typically greet one another by smiling, nodding slightly, and saying hi.

A “Glare” or a “Stare” depending on who’s who
Friendly ones are glare and a nod,
a “stare down” for the ones who don’t get along:D

This sounds like a routine from Seinfeld!! —KCT
