How do the Mormons do it?

Wowzers.

Rebecca just said something accurate about my religion.
I don’t know that that is completely true. I would say this is Mormon orthodoxy:

lds.org/library/display/0,4945,106-1-2-1,FF.html

I would also say that anything in the scriptures would be considered orthodox. For example, Mormons are bound to accept the physical resurrection of Jesus. They are also bound to believe that Jesus is the literal son of God, and not the son of Joseph. So it is not as if Mormonism has absolutely no orthodoxy.

RebeccaJ;8273448:
ParkerD, Jesus is the only Begotten Son of the Father. God from God, light from light, true God from true God.

Your DNA fixation is odd ParkerD. The Father has no DNA, Jesus is not the Father of Himself. Please, think rationally, and stop speculating. Go with what God has Revealed about Himself.
Code:
Rebecca: I think the DNA fixation is a sign of a huge weakness in the BOM. Science, through DNA proves American Indians from South to North are descendants of Asia who crossed over the ice between the continents between 30K-15k years ago. They are not decendants of Semitic Jews of 600 BC who recieved a curse of dark skin 2 Nephi 5:21-23. Science disproves their theological racism. See Evidence of Molecular Genetics Disprove the Book of Mormon [www.godandscience.org/cults/dna.html](www.godandscience.org/cults/dna.html)
Like a defense attorney he tries to confuse the issues to hide Mormonisms greatest weakness. Yet, DNA usually convinces a jury beyond a reasonable doubt and in this case it is clear the BOM is contrary to science.

And yet you have all of those pesky Native Americans in the Great Lakes Region with X2 mtDNA:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haplogroup_X_%28mtDNA%29

Since Mormons don’t believe humans are more than 6000 years old it’s hard to convince them the mtDNA of those middle easterners with X2 mtDNA couldn’t have wound up in Algonquian land.

You are enigma. Cowboy Pete has been honest, without any attempt to talk around the issues as you do.

Yes, Cowboy Pete is renowned for his honesty. And a finer propounder of LDS truth-claims is not to be found anywhere else riding the range. I’m glad you like him so much, Coptic. I picture you and the Cowboy around a campfire, “honestly” discussing a myriad of theological issues like they did in Blazing Saddles.

The paragigm in anything is to learn from good examples. You might consider examining Cowboy and his actions and see how they might cause you to engage.👍

What is an enigma is that Lefty wrote that a letter was submitted resigning from LDS. All posts, if you read them, by Lefty are an attempt to put LDS apologetics, scholarship, and other LDS claims on par with Evangelicals with an inference that there is something to be learned from this. I learned nothing from lefty except that the words generated identify a mind confused by jargon without specifics. You will see that in posting by lefty. There are never any direct questions answered. All postings thus far include references to websites, issues like dissonance, knotty problems, buttressing faith and a variety of other nonsensical discussions. :banghead:

These posts of lefty rarely ask questions about the Catholocism being investigated to compare and contrast leaning towards an attempt to place Mormon thought on par with something. Cowboy honestly tells us what he believes, admits inconsistency and as a result we have all learned.👍

Lefty teaches nothing.

There’s an old hebrew legend that King Nimrod, when his project to lay siege to heaven fell (AKA the Tower of Babel) fell apart, that he ran to the top of his incomplete tower and shot arrows into the clouds, screaming in rage. The legend says that God, being in a prankish sort of mood, instructed an angel to take one of Nimrod’s arrows, dip the head in the blood of a dove, and drop it back onto Nimrod’s tower. The legend says that Nimrod saw the blood on the arrow and rejoiced, saying that he’d slain God. 😃

No, Jharek. I’ve never met Coptic until this forum. I believe that my first post on this board responded to a post by Coptic.

Would you please cite a post that “seems” to indicate that we “have previous knowledge of each other”? Because it seems to me that you’re desperate to make one of your ad homeniems stick, and that you’re now resorting to shooting arrows at the wind.

I believe that the reference is Lefty & Cowboy Pete. I believe that Miriam has some knowledge of Lefty.🤷

No, don’t “take it.” I don’t know Cowboy. I don’t know Rebecca. Forget the conspiracy theory. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone … in high fiber … good scotch … that there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the DH. And I believe that when you have to explain cultural references, they’re no longer funny! 😃

As I said, Lefty teaches nothing. This appears to be more of a social outlet for Lefty. Lefty states that education was at the University of Cincinnati and leaves one to believe that Lefty has the ability to engage but chooses immature nonsense to post.😦

I believe that this is Designated Hitter. Lefty was using sarcasm. As we all know sarcasm is a subtle form of anger. We can infer that Lefty has unresolved anger issues. This would be common knowledge to those that understand sarcasm. Only Lefty knows. The answer is not serious. Oswald presumably killed Kennedy, high fiber is good for the diet and is the best thing you can do for the diet, Scotch whiskey has no relation to anything. Congress intervening in baseball and an attempt to conclude with some sort of sensical nonsense is what Lefty offers in all the posts I have read by Lefty. Read all of Lefty’s posts and you will see the trend.

Lefty has nothing to teach and much to learn. I suppose the University of Cincinnatti would be proud of this sort of stuff.:D:confused::eek:👍

DH is lost on me as well. Since it’s in there with astroturf, I’m thinking it is a sports reference.

Designated Hitter. This may be an allusion to Lefty being unable to go to bat for herself.👍

🤷 I think you should give lefty a break CopticChristian. Not everyone is here for the same reasons!

PS: I thought (or assumed) lefty was female…so this comment is…

He makes repeated public announcements that he’s placed me on ignore (how do you do that, btw?) and then he continues to talk about me. How quaintly passive-aggressive.

So it’s Lefty that I’m supposed to know? Nope.

The only person on this forum that I believe I know from elsewhere, is RebeccaJ.

I don’t know you Cowboy Pete. So maybe you should enlighten me.

Only through postings on this forum, the same way I know you and everyone else here. 🤷
Basically, Coptic you just sounded rude. There are threads that ask these questions all over this site. I believe the OP question is Non-Catholics: Why are you here
?
But Lefty, just so you know, on those other threads, no holds barred
.

Miriam, you criticized me and judged me without any evidence to support your judgement. I asked you to point out where you found any words that were “rude”. You never answered and ignored this. You let your false statement stand.😦

You then posted a message to lefty.

I have no knowledge other than what I present and what I have seen. I am still waiting for you to admit you errored in your assessment of what you call rude, pointing to the words that would cause me to believe that you judged correctly or something that I missed. Your ignore causes me to suspect.🤷
