How do we apply these verses to witnessing and apologetics?

A deceitful balance is an abomination before the Lord: and a just weight is his will.

Shall I justify wicked balances, and the deceitful weights of the bag?

Let the balance be just and the weights equal, the bushel just, and the sextary equal.

Diverse weights are an abomination before the Lord: a deceitful balance is not good,

I get it. No cheating with the bathroom scales. . .😃

I believe it means that we need to watch out the words that comes out of our mouth. There is no substitute for truth.

I will be glad to hear from anyone who may have a different notion about these verses from the bible.

:blessyou:

I would also say quoting scripture in context.

For example, many tracts quotes from Revelation “I stand at the door and knock”, the I being Jesus. Problem is, in context this verse is speaking of Jesus knocking on the heart of a Christian, not an unbeliever. Some, people after becoming a christian later learns the true meaning of that verse and as the result leaves the church behind. Questioning the whole gospel message.

I also take it to mean, judging other people’s evidences with the same standards you judge your own evidences trying to keep the rules or standards as objective as possibile.
