Why start with the notion that Islam or Moslem is false? It is based on much the same scripture as Judeo-christian faith is…

I have a great Moslem friend and we talk at length about what we have in common and it seems much more than fundamentalist christians (right wing protestants in republican parties 🙂 are willing to acknowledge…

Of course there are difference but we honour the differences and focus on the commonalities…I think the sad part of the Moslem faith is the extremests, but all faiths including the catholic faith have extremests where they believe their way is right and it is the only way …other ways must be destroyed…and that is hardly the message of Jesus when he simply said, if a community does not hear you…shake the dust from your feet and move on…there will always be ears and hearts welcoming of the message of jesus…

But study the moslem faith, enjoy its beauty and hang its art up on our walls…

What beauty? being spread by the sword and killing those that leave it? Women can be beaten by their husbands if disobedient? Rape victims are stoned for adultry? 9 year old girls are forced into marriage? Women forced into burkas? I guess I’ll skip this beauty. I am always amazed that it is men that find beauty in the teachings of Mohammed but not us women.

Because Christ is who He says He is, not who Muhammad and his followers say He is.

They are not always stoned. In one area in Africa, if a young adolescent is raped and she becomes pregnant, she is accused in public for being a prostitute and for her punishment she has both hands cut off as prescribe by* that law, at least in that area. I’ve met a missionary priest who took care of these girls without hands, trying to raise money for prosthesis so these girls so they can have some semblance of a normal life and to restore the dignity in them that was robbed from them. Tbh I don’t know how common this is, but still there are many other cases were women really suffer due to that* law they live under and it is basically ignored by the West (Western press).

I’m thinking that with the media the way it is today you’re bound to find poor examples of most religions… Yes we certainly hear about bombers and child abuse… but these acts aren’t necessarily restricted to one religion.

🙂

it is false because it denies that Jesus is the Son of God. Mohammed is a false prophet.
and the religion that he founded is flawed. It claims that Christianity is corrupted and that Mohammed is the last true prophet. that is it in a nut shell.
With humility, I think that is referring to Jesus’ human condition which is not one with the Father.

Besides the specificities of Muhammad’s Mission is not too far astray from Buddha’s Mission, since they both were borne in environments of extreme idol worship. Creating more idolatry in both cases was counterproductive. One denied the existence of a God altogether and the other acknowledged but One God, and would not tolerate any human equal.

Hope that helps 🙂

However sensationalized this may be, let us ponder on how far all religions have fallen away from the original teachings of their Founder…

that is totally false. One can’t have “unity” with a diabolical faith that teaches that Jesus is not the Son of God. No one here is trying to “pick a fight” but to have dialog, one should not run from major differences which DO exist between Christianity and Islam. There have been more Christians killed by Islam in the 21st century than any other time and if you truely look at it’s violent fruits, the way women are treated under its rule, there is practically nothing one can have in common with Islam.
My friend, when you press “Send” on a post that says “How do we find Islam as being false!”…those words are fighting words.

In my opinion, there is no difference if the OP had said “How do we know that black people are false!”

Think about that for a second 🙂
…and try and distance yourself from the actions of a deluded cohort of adherents…

How do we know Islam is False?
May Jesus Christ and the Holy Trinity Bless you.
Well, how do we know of the divinity of Jesus Christ?

! Corinthians 12:3 (KJV) Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

I hope this helps.

I know that it is Truth, I have no doubts, I pray for those who don’t know the Truth.

I judge no one.
You believe it is true and that is great because it reflects your great faith, but if it were knowledge you would not need the faith.

  1. It’s based on an incomplete selection of the same Scriptures
  2. It also includes a healthy selection of non-Scripture teachings and passages
  3. Given the position of Catholic theology and Islamic theology both can’t be correct. Both claim that the other is false/incomplete/in error.
  4. One or both having extremist elements has nothing to do with the question asked by the OP.
  5. We can know that Islam is false given how it treats it’s sources (Judaism and Christianity) and how it attempts to build upon them.

Just read the Bible. Islam conflicts with the Bible on so many levels, so
if we accept the Bible as true, then we can conclude that Islam is false.

Further note I’d like to add: It’s not that Islam has a different god, but it
has the wrong information about that same The God which we worship.

How do we know Islam is False?
We don’t know as we don’t know any religion is true but if one is a Christian, one has no choice but to consider it false since it contradicts Christianity which one believes.

Excellent points dronald, but it is also fair to say that the Book of John was not written for almost 100 years after Jesus died and many of the catholic canon was edited early in history too…only now… we are going back to the original texts…so i am not sure if the redaction argument is enough to say that Islam is false…what does it teach (and I am asking this not making a point - cause I don’t know) that is directly contrary to Christianity…the salvation of our souls?

Anyways yes, always willing to learn more and willing to hear you out.

Thanks for the reply Trickster but you missed what I was saying. You probably haven’t read the Qur’an and most of the stories found within. If you do, you’ll see there are stories about the last supper being brought down from Heaven, Noah’s ark, Adam and Eve, etc.

The ironic thing about this is that Muhammad not only took stories and elaborated on them, he also (accidently) put stories in the Qur’an that were old folk tales and were not canonized in any way. However, some of these stories were believed to be true by some Christians and Jews because they didn’t have a Bible everywhere they went, all they had were oral stories they have heard.

Two of the stories that stand out (there are many others) are the stories of Jesus making birds out of clay and Jesus talking to Mary under a palm tree when she was thirsty. Both of these stories were made up about 200-400 years after the death of Jesus because Christians wanted to know more about Jesus’s childhood. Take a look:

Qur’an 19:22-26Then she conceived him; and withdrew with him to a remote place. ‏And the throes of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a* palm-tree**. She said: Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten! ‏So a voice came to her from beneath her: Grieve not, surely thy Lord has provided a stream beneath thee. ‏ And shake towards thee the trunk of the** palm-tree**, it will drop on thee fresh ripe dates. ‏So eat and drink and cool the eye. Then if thou seest any mortal, say: Surely I have vowed a fast to the Beneficent, so I will not speak to any man to-day.*

This is the story of Jesus as an infant under a palm tree speaking to Mary while she is in distress.

Psuedo-matthew gospel. Written 4th century: And it came to pass on the third day of their journey, while they were walking, that the blessed Mary was fatigued by the excessive heat of the sun in the desert; and seeing a* palm tree**, she said to Joseph: Let me rest a little under the shade of this tree. Joseph therefore made haste, and led her to the palm, and made her come down from her beast. And as the blessed Mary was sitting there, she looked up to the foliage of the palm, and saw it full of fruit, and said to Joseph: I wish it were possible to get some of the fruit of this palm. And Joseph said to her: I wonder that thou sayest this, when thou seest how high the palm tree is; and that thou thinkest of eating of its fruit. I am thinking more of the want of water, because the skins are now empty, and we have none wherewith to refresh ourselves and our cattle. Then the child Jesus, with a joyful countenance, reposing in the bosom of His mother, said to the palm: O tree, bend thy branches, and refresh my mother with thy fruit. And immediately at these words the palm bent its top down to the very feet of the blessed Mary; and they gathered from it fruit, with which they were all refreshed. And after they had gathered all its fruit, it remained bent down, waiting the order to rise from Him who bad commanded it to stoop. Then Jesus said to it: Raise thyself, O palm tree, and be strong, and be the companion of my trees, which are in the paradise of my Father; and open from thy roots a vein of water which has been hid in the earth, and let the waters flow, so that we may be satisfied from thee. And it rose up immediately, and at its root there began to come forth a spring of water exceedingly clear and cool and sparkling. And when they saw the spring of water, they rejoiced with great joy, and were satisfied, themselves and all their cattle and their beasts. Wherefore they gave thanks to God.”*

Why would Muhammad put a story in the Qur’an that was written in the fourth century and say it was a true story? Check this one out:

Qur’an 5:110When Allah will say: O Jesus, son of Mary, remember My favour to thee and to thy mother, when I strengthened thee with the Holy Spirit; thou spokest to people in the cradle and in old age, and when I taught thee the Book and the Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel, and when thou didst determine out of* clay a thing like the form of a bird** by My permission, then thou didst breathe into it and it** became a bird by My permission;** and thou didst heal the blind and the leprous by My permission; and when thou didst raise the dead by My permission; and when I withheld the Children of Israel from thee when thou camest to them with clear arguments – but those of them who disbelieved said: This is nothing but clear enchantment.

Qur’an 3:49 And (make him) a messenger to the Children of Israel (saying): I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, that I determine for you out of dust the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird with Allah’s permission, and I heal the blind and the leprous, and bring the dead to life with Allah’s permission;*

This is from here:

*Infancy gospel of thomas. 2nd century But a certain Jew seeing the things which he was doing, namely, his forming clay into the figures of sparrows on the Sabbath day, went presently away and told his father Joseph, 6. Behold, your boy is playing by the river side, and has taken clay and formed it into twelve sparrows, and profanes the Sabbath. 7. Then Joseph came to the place where he was, and when he saw him, called to him, and said, Why do you that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath day? 8. Then Jesus clapping together the palms of his hands, called to the sparrows, and said to them: Go, fly away; and while you live remember me. 9. So the sparrows fled away, making a noise. *

You believe it is true and that is great because it reflects your great faith, but if it were knowledge you would not need the faith.
Knowledge comes from God, that is how I know it is Truth. If you look for knowledge outside of God you will never find it.

While some of the symbols used in the apocraphal stories are similar to some of the stories in the Qur’an they are also very different…

Note:

The Qur’an:

*O Jesus, son of Mary, **remember My favour to thee and to thy mother, when I strengthened thee with the Holy Spirit; thou spokest to people in the cradle and in old age, and when I taught thee the Book and the Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel, and when thou didst determine out of clay a thing like the form of a bird by My permission, then thou didst breathe into it and it became a bird *by My permission; and thou didst heal the blind and the leprous by My permission

Infancy Gospel:

But a certain Jew seeing the things which he was doing, namely, his forming clay into the figures of sparrows on the Sabbath day, went presently away and told his father Joseph, 6. Behold, your boy is playing by the river side, and has taken clay and formed it into twelve sparrows, and profanes the Sabbath.

The Qur’an 19:22-26

Then she conceived him; and withdrew with him to a remote place. ‏And the throes of childbirth drove her to the trunk of apalm-tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten! ‏So a voice came to her from beneath her: Grieve not, surely thy Lord has provided a stream beneath thee. ‏ And shake towards thee the trunk of thepalm-tree, it will drop on thee fresh ripe dates. ‏So eat and drink and cool the eye. Then if thou seest any mortal, say: Surely I have vowed a fast to the Beneficent, so I will not speak to any man to-day.

Psuedo Matthew:

*And it came to pass on the third day of their journey, while they were walking, that the blessed **Mary was fatigued by the excessive heat of the sun in the desert; and seeing a palm tree, she said to Joseph: Let me rest a little under the shade of this tree. Joseph therefore made haste, and led her to the palm, and made her come down from her beast. **And as the blessed Mary was sitting there, she looked up to the foliage of the palm, and saw it full of fruit, and said to Joseph: I wish it were possible to get some of the fruit of this palm. And Joseph said to her: I wonder that thou sayest this, when thou seest how high the palm tree is; and that thou thinkest of eating of its fruit. Then the child Jesus, with a joyful countenance, reposing in the bosom of His mother, said to the palm: O tree, bend thy branches, and refresh my mother with thy fruit. *

And I would suggest this is true of most Biblical stories that appearin teh Qur’an … They have a different message and intensity about them.

Islam is a false religion. Any Catholic who does not acknowledge that Islam is a false religion is a heretic. That being said, even false religions can have elements of truth. For instance, Islam believes in the God of Abraham.

But Islam makes the most laughably ahistorical claims that even Muslim historians don’t take seriously. It denies the crucifixtion of Christ, for instance. That alone is the biggest blasphemy against God known the mankind. It also denies the son ship of Christ. It says in 1 John 4, that anyone who denies the son is an ANTICHRIST. That makes Mohammad an antichrist. As st Francis of Assisi put him “Mohammad is a slave of the devil”.

Muslims who are aware of the catholic church and it’s teaching, and choose to remain outside of it, will die and go to hell for eternity.

Well according to the Catholic Catechism, there are plenty of Truths in Islam.
No the Catechism does not say this. It does consider the truth and goodness that can be found.

Here is what the Catechism says

841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day."330

However all salvation comes through Jesus Christ.

842 The Church’s bond with non-Christian religions is in the first place the common origin and end of the human race:

All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city. . .331
843 The Catholic Church recognizes in other religions that search, among shadows and images, for the God who is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus, the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as "a preparation for the Gospel and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life."332

**844 In their religious behavior, however, men also display the limits and errors that disfigure the image of God in them:

Very often, deceived by the Evil One, men have become vain in their reasonings, and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and served the creature rather than the Creator.** Or else, living and dying in this world without God, they are exposed to ultimate despair.333
845 To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son’s Church. The Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is “the world reconciled.” She is that bark which “in the full sail of the Lord’s cross, by the breath of the Holy Spirit, navigates safely in this world.” According to another image dear to the Church Fathers, she is prefigured by Noah’s ark, which alone saves from the flood.334

“Outside the Church there is no salvation”

846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:

Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336
847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:

Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337
848 "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men."338

Islam isn’t exactly false. It has some truths but lacks proper Theology and suffers from revisionism.

No, it is false. Yes it has truths, but even if it’s 99.99% Truth (it isn’t), that doesn’t make it “not exactly false.”
