How do we know that God is listening to our prayers?
I recently returned to the church and have started to pray however, I feel as if He is not listening. I feel as if I’m not important enough or perhaps that my prayers are not worthy of the attention since I have been away for most of my high school years.
I do believe in God, but am not convinced that He is present with me.
If there are 7 billion people on this planet and a huge portion of the population is praying and talking to Him at the same time, would He listen to us all? Just like a Father who has many children, sure he loves them all, but does he have the time to prioritise and hear all of them speak at once? No. How can we then expect this from God?
I apologise if these questions appear rather silly to the devout Catholic, but it is something that I often think about and has prevented me from progressing in faith.
Thank you,
Patrizia
