I have heard when St. Peter’s bones were examined they found some animal bones and a female bone. Not sure where the person got that but just how do we know the apostles bones really belonged to them or do we just trust the early Christians who say they are?
Can the Church now have the bones examined to see if they really belonged to a man, etc like how old?
Also, people pray at the place where the bones are buried. Are they sacramentals or what are they called?
