“The commandment says, I am the Lord thy God thall shall have no other gods before me. If you prayed to Moses you would be guilty of this if you prayed to Noah you would be guilty of this, so when you pray to Mary or the Saints you are guilty of this, do not do it, only pray to Jesus and God, no one else!” said by a guy to me on an Angelica Zambrano video…

Isn’t Hebrews 12:1 talking about people who were witnesses to GOD?

I like the info provided at the link by Church Militant.

How does praying to Mary or the Saints make them “other gods before” Him? You seem to believe that it might (otherwise, why bring it up?). It is as if God is sitting there on His throne, and someone prays to Mary asking for intersessions - and then Mary somehow performs a miracle all on her own aside from God. Catholics do not believe that. I remember seeing it written somewhere that viewing Mary, or any of the Saints, as having power to perform miracles aside from God is a sin.

There are two usuages to the word “pray”. Pray to God, and pray to men.

Pray to God means talking to God our creator in heaven in a worshiping way.

Pray to men means talking to others our equals in heaven in a conversational way

Praying to Moses in the first sense would be wrong. But we don’t do that because
we use praying in the second usage.

Just a thought.
