I once read that people would one day see God as He is thought the light of glory.

And this lead me to ask -what is this light of glory? Is it an actual light? Is it uncreated? Is it a similitude and if so, how can it be that we see God’s essence?

Some people who’ve been granted experiences of being in Gods presence in some manner have described light but the main sense is the unfathomable power of the presence itself-and the ineffable experience of infinitely powerful, unconditional love.

Consider the things that are of God. Love Faith and Hope, The Truth, The Way, The Life, Wisdom Knowledge and Understanding, Mercy Righteousness and Judgement.

And Jesus said Jn:4:24: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

So what does God look like? That is most Glorious. Look to Jesus and see. Isn’t the Son like the Father?

The light of glory is the instrumental action that makes us capable of seeing God. It is the created spirit rendered capable of seeing God Himself, as He is.The Beatific Vision is the actual sight of God.
