How do we square Colossians 2:16-19 with holy days of obligation?

I am wondering what the Church teaching is on this passage. I plan on being baptized in the Catholic Church, and had accepted the Magisterum’s teachings, but this passage has me baffled, as it ‘seems’ to say that things like Holy days of obligation etc are not to be observed, lest we be condemned!
I would be very grateful for any light you can shed on this matter.

Dear Shari,

We need to look at the context of the passage. Saint Paul is concerned with Christians recognizing that they are no longer bound by the Old Law. So he says: “…never let anyone else decide what you should eat or drink or whether you are to observe annual festivals.” He’s speaking of the Old Law’s dietary restrictions and festivals. He’s not saying that no one can ever suggest a menu to them or that they can’t observe Easter.
