Hello and thank you for answering my question!
I was recently challenged by an atheist about the Mosaic law. Under the law, homosexuals, adulterers, those who work on Sunday and unbelievers are to be “killed” or “destroyed”. I know that Catholics are not bound by the law since Jesus fulfilled the law. But, how can anyone have ever been bound by these laws by a loving and merciful God?
Put another way- what accounts for the seeming character discrepancy between the Old Testament Yahweh and New Testament Father?
Thanks!
