A verse from Titus, one of those seldom read books of the NT, states it very well:
Tit.1[15] To the pure all things are pure, but to the corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are corrupted.
In order to be heavenly-minded rather than worldly-minded, one needs to strive for holiness/purity. Not just in what we view, but in how we see the world. And that takes having an eternal understanding of everything–why we are here, where we are going, and what we are to be while we are here. When we have eternal values engrained deep in our hearts, minds and souls then we are pure and we see all things through pure eyes and intentions. It isn’t modern media, per se that is the villain. We need to exercise the virtue of purity, making it integral to our very being. Nothing of this world can soil the person who has this virtue.
