Well, this guy is a radio host in my area and he undertakes the task of defending the concept of organized religion against the sort of vague attacks we all hear on a daily basis. I guess my question is… how does he do? I don’t just mean factually, I mean is this sort of more passionate and maybe even abrasive tactic really effective? I’d certainly rather see a young man like this becoming angry for his faith than apathetic towards it… but still…

The opposite of organized religion is disorganized religion.

I would say what John said and also point out that the Church in Acts and the NT was organized with appointed Apostles, bishops, presbyters, a deaconite, a council (in Acts 15), etc… The case against “organized” religion is a biased fantasy.

He makes pretty good points in the talk. His method will not work for everyone. But he will make others think. Sometimes an abrasive, free-form ramble such as his will discredit his perceived wisdom on the subject, atleast in the minds of those who are more organized and precise with the flow of their thoughts and arguments. But again, some will take pause and reflect on what he’s saying, perhaps to their own gain. From what I’ve seen of this guy (a few videos here and there), he’s got a decent thing going. I don’t know that much about him though.
