how do you feel about this Vatican II change?

Where does the Church say what the high point of the Mass is? I thought the entire Mass was a “high point.” Thanks for any help.

Well, if you look at the Mass as a prayer that is structured in such a way that the participant is gradually lifted up into fuller communion with the eternal worship surrounding God in heaven, the point at which the Church on earth is most in communion with the Church in heaven is when Christ becomes present fully. That’s how I see the consecration as the high point of the Mass.

This was never a concern I observed with my children or their first communication classes. Never, in all the years at the Catholic grade school with all the school Masses I went to did I ever see this as an issue or concern.

Keep in mind though that Jesus was speaking only to the first Priests that He Ordained at the Last Supper. Only these Apostles, whom Jesus Ordained to the Priesthood, were present and participants at the Last Supper.

Maybe someone should have told the Apostles that only they were to receive both Species; it is for sure Christ didn’t, because that is how the Eucharist was celebrated in the early Church.

I heardthat the presence of Jesus goes away as soon as the Host is fully digested… so any liquid in the mouth is obviously going to make that happen a lot faster than if not…

the Real Presence goes away, but Jesus remains in you spiritually

I think only the Host should be offered; The chalice shouldn’t. Growing up (I’m 22; and have always attended an English Novus Ordo: because of circumstance not by preference). My priest still always had the altar server ring the bell at consecration, very few “Extra-Ordinary Ministers of the Communion,” and never offered the Chalice to us laity (He just didn’t.). I then, found, one day either him within his last year or so of his 50 yr. priesthood offered the chalice. (either him or his successor I don’t remember) so I never really had the chalice growing up. I don’t see why, their is TOO much risk of spillage and profanation of the precious Blood of Christ; plus in the specie of the Host alone, there is all of Christ Jesus: Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Ergo, no reason to permit profanation. (and bring back all the altar rails too. )

It initial started to clarify to all that one receives fully the body and the blood of Jesus in just one of the elements.

Vatican II, did what it was suppose to do…destroy the faith of many Catholics and all but destroy the Church. This is why SOOO many **traditional Catholic **groups are coming to light. To restore the faith and reverse the radical ideas of of the heretical Vatican II.

How does communion under two species do this? The early Church sure thrived with it.

Catholics traditionally DID receive under both species.

Eventually, in the Middle Ages, the Cup was withdrawn from the laity.

The theory of concomitance (the entire Christ is received in either species) was subsequently developed to defend the legitimacy of receiving only under one species (which, again, was not the original practice).

How can something all the Popes since Vatican II support be heretical? How can something 99+% of the bishops since Vatican II support be heretical?
