🌼 Hello again! It’s been a while. And thanks to Jesus I am feeling better and I want to thank everyone who prayed for me in my last post. ā¤ļø
I’m going though a difficult time that Involves my academical situation too. But I hope I will overcome everything. I was wondering, when you people pray, how do you feel and how do you do it? Some people pray in their bedrooms, in church, in some place in their houses or anywhere! Do you think the outsides anywhere end contact with nature helps us to pray better? I have been planning on praying the Rosary in some calm natural place. I am desperate for God/Jesus to hear me. I’m a person who feels a lot of anxiety but prayer calms me down… I hope everyone is having a wonderful day/night/afternoon and God bless you all.
(Sorry for my English is not my first language)

Hi MariaJu,I just pray whenever I remember throughout the day even if it’s just a hello to Jesus.Im always thinking and praying while I’m doing chores, walking ,shopping, working. My usual set times for rosarys are when I’m walking and driving and going to sleep.Im not a very organised person so spontaneous works in fine.

I pray in my bedroom every night. Sometimes I’ll go into my closet so my roommates don’t hear me xD

My favorite place to pray is at Eucharistic Adoration. Last week our priests played some Latin Gregorian chants which really allowed me to deeply contemplate the words I prayed.

I pray mostly in my bedroom before bed, and I usually just pray the prayers in my prayerbook. I don’t really feel anything when I pray. My favorite place to pray, though, is in the church. I don’t get nearly as distracted as I normally do plus the Blessed Sacrament is right there.

I pray wherever I can find the time. A lot of the time it is on my couch at home. Or in the car.

If I wish to try to get a plenary indulgence, praying in a church or chapel is one way to do it. I can say a rosary or do Adoration. So for those activities, I go to church, especially since I also need to receive Holy Communion for the indulgence, which usually means going to Mass.

It can be nice to pray in natural surroundings, although at this time of year when it is freezing and snowing out, I think the church or one’s living room is a better choice.

As for ā€œhow I feel when I prayā€, all different ways…prayer is helpful to some extent with anxiety as it reminds one that Jesus and Mary and the saints are always there, one is never alone even when no other people are around.

I pray the first hour of the day on my cozy porch, with a purring cat on my lap and a cup of coffee in hand, watching the sunrise. Pure peace; pure heaven. That’s the most focused time of my day. I also pray before and after daily Mass. Finally, I pray as frequently as I remember to every day, I see clients, and I try to pray for each one as they come or go. I pray (or try to) especially for people who annoy me during the day. Since we are now dealing with snow and ice, I pray when I walk and drive for safety.

I like to pray first thing in the morning. I have a prayer table(night table) in my room with a picture of Jesus… I light my candle and pray. I end the day the same way. I also will say a prayer here and there while I’m driving or if I have a strong feeling to pray. I usually feel peaceful afterwards. I especially love that once in a while, and I know He’s always there… but when He gives me little signs that He’s there. There have been times while praying, that it will be cloudy then a big burst of sunshine shines on me while praying, and it’ll last a while and brighten the room incredibly. Another time I remember while not praying but listening to my favorite Christian song… I felt like if someone just wrapped their arms around my heart and just squeezed like when someone gives you a big hug. I took it as He was telling me I love you and I’m here. That was awesome and unforgettable.

I struggle with anxiety too. I find that when I sit at adoration and SLOWLY pray the rosary, meditating on its mysteries and putting my own prayers in there too it can really calm me down. I actually become very peaceful and I can sense God’s presence at adoration more clearly than anywhere else. I suppose nature would be an uplifting place as well. Think about praying also just throughout your day. Talking to God inside your heart and believe me He will hear you! He’s waiting to hear from you, to run to you. He died to hear from you! Think of that, its true! He loves you more than you will ever imagine.

I pray my morning office In Church before my daily Mass. I’m praying the Rosary on my way to work. Pray at lunch time, then before supper my evening office prayers. Then at bedtime my night office prayers & Rosary. When I pray I have a feeling of peace & serenity.

I think you have a great idea. I love going for walks outside, whether in the city or in a forest and praying the Rosary. Looking at the natural world as the Beaty of God’s creation can be a wonderful prayer too. I also like adoration, or sitting in chapel or a church where I can see the tabernacle.

As far as what I feel when I pray…it varies. And I think I varies for everyone. Sometimes I feel peace and joy. Calm. Sometimes I feel nothing. And in all honesty, there are many times my mind is so distracted by things going on in life that I have a hard time bringing myself into the present moment of prayer. But, I acknowledge those distractions, and then tell Jesus about it, , even rant about what is distracting me. He’s a wonderful listener and has a way of helping me out. I do not say ā€œnow is not a good time to pray because my mind is in other placesā€ā€¦instead I tell Jesus all about it…which IS prayer.

I have a lot of energy, and some anxiety at times. I find that the rosary at such times goes well when I walk my dog. I really should have named him Rosary. The steady activity and fresh air are quite complimentary to prayer. I am privileged to have daily rosary offered at my church, although I can make it only half of the time. I have an auto cd of the rosary and catholic prayers. I spend a lot of time in my car, and it sure beats swearing at traffic! At home, in my house, I pray usually I bed, cup of coffee bedside, having coffee with the Lord. Often this is when I get out my old school Catholic book of Prayers. It works for us. 😃
