This is what a good spiritual director will do. Covering all the bases behind such anger, whether it stems from being easily offended, a choleric personality, emotional wounds of the past, or demonic temptations which prey on such wounds, or even such a choleric personality. I would not leave out stress, or neurological symptoms either.

God be merciful to us

Often times anger/rage is caused by abnormalities in the brain, in particular the frontal lobes. You may help a little using a therapeutic verbal exchange, but the real cure is in curing the abnormalities of the brain.

Religion helps a lot. Getting the person to confess the anger as sin can be paramount in getting things cured.

The article mentions the possible role of satan, which is true of any sin. Even tho this may not be the principle reason for the sin, he has his hand in prompting us to anger.

A priest wrote a book, who was not an exorcist but an ordinary priest, in which he stated an incident which happened to him. He was riding on a public transit vehicle sitting about 2 seats behind this young couple. They were arguing back and forth for some time. The priest was getting a little bit upset with all of this. He then said a prayer in which he told the devil to leave that couple be in peace. He said he no longer got the prayer said when the couple became quiet and never said a disquieting word for the rest of the ride.

The reason I bring this up is that we always can get good protection from the devil thru the sacramentals. And the one that has helped me the most is the miraculous medal.

Many times I call on Mary, in any temptation, to give me the GREAT and ABOUNDANT graces she promised to those who trust her and wear her medal. And it has worked particularly well for anger. I remember one time in particular I was upset very much, I held the medal and asked her for her great grace she promised and then let it go. Within a few minutes, I couldn’t even remember what I was angry about.

Mary will always help if we ask her. It was her specific wish that everyone have this medal and use it. So many could be helped if they would just try it with trust.

Just some Marion thoughts.
