How do you join Opus Dei?

I have not heard back from Opus Dei. I really believe I may have a vocation here. I would appreciate it if anyone out there can put me in direct contact with someone from Opus Dei that can get me involved and down the right path. I live in the Norfolk, Virginia Hampton Roads area which is under the Richman, Virginia Diocese area. Thank you for your assistance.

Unless you’re someone who has to be a “MEMBER” to be able to do anything, why can’t you just make a retreat and figure out what it is that God wants you to be doing to make your work the vehicle for you to grow in sanctity? It’s quite simple, really. What we need to do is to SEE CHRIST in those we work with, for and for the benefit of, and then it comes quite easily. Of course, I’m not discouraging anyone from trying to get more involved in the organization of Opus Dei, but sometimes, it just seems that we humans must make EVERYTHING so darned complicated. God has made it so very simple for all of us: – Love Me; do My Will in all things. It may not be easy, but it is very do-able. I’ll pray for you. Better yet, let’s pray for each other!

I already do that and I AM being sanctified. However Catholics are not called to simply individual piety but communical piety. I am called to be in fellowship with other Catholics who are likeminded to me and I seek out such believers so that I may be united with them in spirit and flesh. In other words, I am looking for Catholic fellowship with those who have the same or similar vocations as I have.

Thats not the case at all, we humans need fellowship with likeminded believers outside of mass. Why do we need to have home bible studies and faith sharing groups? Is it because we are trying to complicate things or is it because we have the human need for friendship and brotherhood on a micro as well as a macro level? Opus Dei may provide that need for me.

God has also commanded us to “love our neighbor as we lovre ourselves,” …to… “…not forsake the assemblies of ourselves together…”…"…for where 2 or more are gathered in my name there I am in the midst of you…" Do you see my point here? It is not about complicating things but about Christian fellowship and unity.
