How do you keep on keeping on?

Well, you know, sometimes you have to look that frog straight in the eyes and say,
“I’m sorry sir, but I do NOT speak Italian, and anyone else who approaches me or my family with that kind of lawnmower is going to get three banks of Tuesday.”

You see it’s all about perspective.

Hey … I like this answer! 👍

My more serious one:
One Rosary at a time.

:blessyou:

I keep on keeping on by recalling that God always grants me enough grace to do so, and by avoiding trying to predict what could possibly happen. “Suffice it unto the day are the troubles thereof” is one of my favorites of all of Jesus’s quotes.

Don’t ask God to take your Cross - ask Him to help you carry it. He does.

Hi,

I can totally relate to that question, qwestions. It is hard at times to keep your faith strong when you feel like you are out in the wilderness.

Luke 12:7 7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Matthew 6: 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

We all struggle and it gets very discouraging at times. Just keep praying and seeking God. God bless you

I try and keep reminding myself that my life is none of my business.

Acknowledge that this can and does happen to everyone, and do everything you can to perservere, not fail.

WIthout knowing your specific circumstances it can help to consider:
  1. pray more, especially for the virtues and graces you don’t even know to ask for to aid you through this time, but trust that God does know and will provide.
  2. Another prayer I like is a song that I return to in prayer has simple lyrics, “Everything I am, Everything I long to be, I lay it down, at your feet. I lay it down. I lay it down. I lay it down, at your feet” This song/prayer has been a powerful reminder that not through my will, but God’s will I shall perservere.
  3. Keep the task list simple and the expectations low
  4. Just do the first thing first
  5. Make sure your day has something in it you enjoy
  6. At the end of the day, it’s about who you loved, not what you did (important for caregivers/parents/teachers/ministers facing no change or improvement in conditions of those they care for)
  7. Get a check-up and screen for depression to make sure there isn’t an underlying, treatable condition making things worse
  8. If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere right now, acknowledge that the lack of sunlight and outdoor time can make a big difference in our overall mood. Perhaps some exercise, sunlamp, or vitamin D can help
HTH.

Sate of grace
confession
communion
prayer, having a conversation with God and Our Lady
Unity of Life
Faith, believe

Not always sure myself. When times get rough I just take it day by day.

In similar vein: do the next thing. Here is a nice article about it.
very nice! When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I say to myself, “do what’s before you.” Which is the the same–do the next thing. It keeps me from being paralyzed in inaction. Plus, it reminds me to just attend to my present duty and not to feel overwhelmed by the many many tasks and worries.

I’ve spent many days like that.🙂

I am sorry you are struggling. You have been given great advice. Do the next thing is my strategy too.
god bless you. I will send a few prayers your way.

Prayer to Jesus, Mary, the saints, the Rosary, Mass, Adoration, holy water, etc.

Also,

One day at a time.

Do the next RIGHT thing.

Let go, and let God.

How important is it?

etc. etc. etc.

I appreciate your responses. Thank you for taking the time to write.

I recognize those sayings! 😉

I tell myself it could def. be worse. Even if I’m not in the place to imagine how.
