How do you keep on keeping on?

I try and keep reminding myself that my life is none of my business.
Ha! I will have to remember that.

Short version: What is the alternative?

Long version: There are two choices: break or carry on. I’m far too stubborn to break so far.

I look at it this way either God has sent the challenge which means he’s probably sent the resources I just have to find them. He wouldn’t give me a challenge I can’t handle and He’s there to help if I need it.

If the devil sent the challenge- Who does he think he is? I am a Child of God! I’m strong enough to fight him and I always have the help of God and the heavenly saints. So 😛

To paraphrase St. Francis de Sales: In this war we cannot lose so long as we are willing to fight.

I think of Jesus’ way of the cross and how he fell 3 times but kept getting up. Also, how Simon had to help Jesus when He could go no further. Even Jesus needed help. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. And remember to get up every time you fall down. Never quit.

Spiritually: prayer, reliance on God, trust and faith. And hope. And love.

Earthly (or not so): keep making choices and carrying out choices and renewing choices. Be ruled by your decisions (after God and legitimate authority and law, I’m definitely not talking about being an immature rebel here) and not by circumstance. This is hard, very hard. For example, I need to close the CAF window right now and get started on work. It has taken me too long today already. 😉

Know that God always wants what is best for me. And in the times of my trials and struggles I try to remember that God draws straight with crooked lines.

Ite in pace,
Joshua C.

I recognize those sayings! 😉
Yep, another friend of Lois here, and great admirer of Bill W. and Dr. Bob.

Speaking of which, does anyone recall that Bill W.'s spiritual advisor was Fr. Tom Dowling, SJ? Lots of great Ignatian stuff in the twelve steps!
