How do you keep track of people you are praying for?

I was thinking of keeping a piece of paper in my wallet with the names of those whose intentions I am praying for. Anybody have any good ideas?

When praying I’ll often say, “And also for the intentions of those whom I said I would pray for.”

Sounds good to me.Or a small notebook. I used to leave the paper on my prayer table,OR use an email list, or both…

I keep a notebook and have categories like cancer, deaths, pregnancies, etc. and always put the date when I first write the name/request in. I like to pray for people who have died and their loved ones for one year. I try to go through each person by name at least once a week and in between times will just pray “for the people on my list.”

If you pray for everyone on your list daily, you’ll memorize the list pretty quickly, and then won’t need a written reference anymore. And like Fauken, I add a general catch-all at the end just to be sure.

At Mass every morning I say it for "all those I have been asked to pray for, those I promised to pray for, those who need my prayers and those who have no one to pray for them. I place them all on the Paten and in the Challis at the time of Consecration. And I ask the Blessed Mother to pray for them all. Including all my forum friends. She Never forgets anyone. God Bless, Memaw

I would try asking your Guardian Angel to dig deep into your heart and bring forth all your intentions that you may have considered praying for throughout your day, but may have forgotten. Put your Guardian Angel to work in this regard, and ask him to present these prayer intentions to the Queen of Heaven, so that she might better present them to Our Blessed Lord.

I keep a notebook with intentions in it. I revise it often and always end my time of intercessory prayer with:

For these and for all those for whom I have promised to pray but may have forgotten…

“You know my heart better than me. Please help whoever that I want to pray for, whoever that needs your help, whoever that is struggling etc”

While it’s good to keep track of the people, God is not a human and knows what you are going to ask before you even ask, so don’t fret too much.
