Some people don’t believe in these things. They dismiss them as coincidences. I believe there are no coincidences with God. It is only that we sometimes fail to grasp what he is saying until something like this happens.

I too have had cardinals appear at unusual and trying times. I don’t mean just seeing one in the yard, but it ways that cannot be explained away by the word coincidence.
 
I don’t know whether or not my father is in heaven, but he suffered greatly on Earth, so he could very well be, but just in case he’s in purgatory, I still pray for the Repose of his soul. That prayer will help someone, even if it’s not him, God doesn’t let prayers go to waste.
