How do you know if you need to go to confession?

I can’t remember if I’ve committed any mortal sins in the past few weeks (2) since I’ve been to confession. Last week I didn’t take communion because I was too scared I might have something on my soul that I needed to confess, and I just didn’t plain feel worthy enough. Tomorrow is the Solemnity of Mary, so I’d like to receive communion, but I’m nervous.

Ack, what do you do when you feel like this?!

You do not need to abstain from receiving Communion if you are not conscious of any unconfessed serious sin. Go in peace.

That’s a good question.

Sometimes I feel like I need to go to confession every week because there was something I did somewhere that I screwed up on. And usually if I look hard enough, I’ll find something.

Especially when it comes time to accept the Eucharist.
