How do you know when you have the world in your heart

A couple of weeks ago was the feast day of St.Ignatius of Antioch and a quote of his was “Do not have Jesus Christ on your lips, But the world in your heart” and I was wondering how does one know when they have the world in their heart; and how can we try to prevent this from happening or change?

How do we know when the world is in our hearts and what steps do we take to prevent or stop it. Sorry for the confusion.
 
This is the disease of the ages. The harder it is to live a holy life is one indicator of worldliness. The less inclined we are to devote time and effort to God is another. A third is our involvement with media (especially “social” media), sports, secular fraternal organizations, hobbies - in short, whatever you devote time to that is not dedicated to the Lord. Lack of a solid prayer life is another, as prayer is conversation with God.

Our faith must define who we are. Holiness comes from an interior life which inclines away from the world and toward God. What we hear constantly is that we are intended to be in the world but not of the world. Huge difference.
