How do you know whether faith is intellectual or in your heart?

So I realized as I am going through this journey that I don’t honestly know how to tell if faith and belief in God are in my heart are solely my mind? Does anyone have any good tips to discerning this? I am slightly concerned that since I am in a crisis of faith and doubt in God that if I were to pass I would be damned is that the case? I’m worried because intellectually I know of the truth and of God and that I still seek signs and miracles and the like, as well as despairing at the potentiality of God not existing that I will be damned? Is this true or am I being ridiculous?

Faith and Reason are complementary. Both are needed to live the Christian life.

We know our interior disposition through what we do.
If you act as Christ wants you to and do so for the love of him then rest easy and don’t sweat the petty stuff.

What I struggle with is as I’m searching for God I am trying to live according to what he outlined but I don’t personally feel I know him or that a major part of me is still doubting. I hope he can see I’m trying.

Hence my advice.
Perhaps you are being called to transcend mere feelings about God.
Character is determined by our actions not our feelings.
If you generally act as Christ would want you to ignore the feelings.

Mother Theresa had the same experience most of her life.
You do believe she is with God?
