How do you know which church you're supposed to belong to?

Oh, I know guilt is God’s way of telling me to quit doing what I’m doing. I may not like it but tough.
Yes, I’m back but I guarantee that there will be times where I’ll sway and stumble again.

Just like the rest of us.

The trick is to get up once more times than you fall down.

And make good use of the Confessional. I was once told that if a person were to go to Confession every week for a whole year, she would never lose her faith. (I think it’s probably true.)

I should try that and see how it works. I probably won’t make it every week but I could try and go as often as possible.

Just a bit of personal testimony - I have made my greatest spiritual progress, when going to Confession at times when I didn’t really think I “needed” to go.

It’s amazing what the Holy Spirit reveals to me, when I make this kind of extra effort - I’m sure I’m not unique.

Oh, I would definitely have to make the effort to go to Confession, since it’s in the middle of the afternoon on Saturdays. Plus, telling my faults to another person (as humbling as it might be) is not something I get excited about doing. That’s why it takes motivation to go but once I go and am done, I feel so much better.

**AHHH - but do you believe in John 6 in the CONTEXT that it was written - that Jesus gave us his body and blood to consume? **Don’t stop at verse 48.

The problem with all of the differing and contrasting interpretations and beliefs of the thousands of different Protestant denominations is, is taking one verse here and there OUT OF CONTEXT.

I belong to any Catholic church that the Pope Benedict XVI is our Pope.

So, my next thing is: which parish I am supposed to belong to?

I would say the one I want to be a member of is the one which helps me grow in faith and also the one I will be helping others grow in faith with me.

I’m hoping to track down the priest that married me and my hubby. I’ve known him my whole life and trust him but he has moved away (still within the state, though). I will contact the diocese and see what they can tell me. Hopefully I can find him and talk to him about my issues. He’s pretty straight-forward and to-the-point so he would tell me like it is. I need that!

Please persevere in your faith. It truly is a marathon. Sit down with your Parish Priest and have a good long confession. I truly believe it will help.

Pray to God for the blessing and guidance of His Holy Spirit. He won’t let you down. Listen carefuly for Christ’s call.
